My thoughts exactly!!
A Japanese sports car, at a tiny fraction of that crazy price, has a top which disintegrates into the trunk at the mere touch of a button!!

Technological Showcase, Tearing apart the laws of physics , a clear marketing move towards brand re establishment and doing something that nobody has ever done
Mind you a Bugatti Veyron unit costs 5,5 million euros for Bugatti to manufacture it and they sell the car for 1 million. They will never make money out of this project This car is a Concorde moment Only 300 will be made and 220 already have already been sold

Frostie
I know what you mean! Porsche did the same with the 959 back in the late 80's. The car was also used for racing like Paris Dakar. Ferrari is also using their master piece Enzo (FXX) for racing. The Veyron in the other hand is just for show. What is the point of having all that power and technology and not be able to take it to the track and enjoy it. Will those 220 buyers ever get together and race its other like the FXX owners do? As I said before I know what you mean though. For that much money I would rather buy an ex M. Schumacher F1 car HANDS DOWN. |

Well the Bugatti can be used in a track but you are definitely not going to enjoy it. For a track car i would choose a Porsche anyday plus the porsche is more affordable Truth be told a bugatti is not made for track use but it is undeniably the biggest automotive engineering marvel so far IMHO The 959 Porsche was a great car. 0-60 in just 3,6 seconds WOW

With 16 cylinders it better beat any car out there. Imagine, a small block Chevy engine can easily produce 500hp. Now,try to have 2 of these in a car.
No, I am not trying to compare the two engines, I am just saying you have the equivalent of two engines in one car. Quote:

Back in 1973 the Porsche 917/30 was able to produce 1500hp in qualifying trim and 1000hp during races and that was in a 5.4 liter engine. Amazing!!!!
If I remember correctly Mark Donahue had driven that car at speeds of 250mph. |

That car is a joke. $3M and a manual roof, wow. For $3M you could get a Mitsubishi Evolution, mod it, and outrace any Bugatti out there. And you'd have money left over.

My bad, its only limited when you have the top down, and then its still 223mph. Imagine sticking your hand up out the top at that speed lol. Bye Bye hand...

Beautiful and exciting, frostie.
And I bet it is even more so in person . . . I think it is the only celebrated supercar that I have not seen on the streets of Los Angeles. |
