I couldn't give in to the aftermarket pricing on the Daytona if trading. You're giving up too much for a $12k+ watch. That is, unless you really just don't want the Hulk. Also, I would only do it for a white dial 16500LN, not the black.

You’ve enjoyed the LV for 3 years I’m assuming. If you don’t love it anymore, I’d recommend selling it privately. That way you can take advantage of the upside and the high demand for it. Your outlay for the Daytona would be less than 10K.

If you’re caught in the hype, think wisely. There are plenty of stories here where people regret selling a beloved piece.

If it was my move and I really like a Daytona, I’d put my name on a waiting list and keep the LV.

Good luck

I’m gona say yes. It’s a fair deal if we’re talking current market pricing and honestly Daytona is in a different class than a sub or gmt. If you got the hulk for msrp or less, I’d definitely consider that deal.

I have nothing against you trading the Hulk for the Daytona if that's the watch you prefer, but this would not be a fair deal.

A black 116500 will be around 20K, likely a bit less. He can certainly sell the hulk and be out less than 10K to do it himself. Yes.

I am not saying he should but if that's what he wants, he can.

Disagree
Not a fan of the pricing talk, but a 3 year old lv will likely NET the seller about $11,000. A black Daytona complete is selling between $22,000-25,000 these days. My math tell me that if he wants a Daytona, this deal makes sense (as crazy as that sounds) and less hassles

Those are exactly the numbers the deal will go through.

Maths checks out.. used hulk would be around 12k? A new daytona would be about 22/23?

If you want it, go for it, saving up for another hulk from scratch will be easier too

Yeah, I just looked around and I don't see many if any listed under 22k.

It's crazy to fathom, but this proposal seems pretty close to the market.

I still wouldn't do it though.

I want a D500 so bad, but I decided I am not paying double it's MSRP. Must have will power!
