Many would prefer the GMT over Ym but they are not you. From a trade perspective it is not a bad deal, but to answer you question, the GMT is definitely easier to unload for max value.

That IS important regardless what others say. If you already having doubts, HOLD the GMT untill something you really want becomes available and you have a watch with excellent trade value to fund it.

My 2¢
Not popular? Only several million iterations sold. Perhaps not as popular among the current candy-colored bezel crowd, but very, very far from "unpopular". Any watch variant that's been in production since the 50's merits a bit more respect than being summarily dissed.

Most versatile GMT EVER made.

That’s not a good deal. I would not take that deal. Keep the LN.

No deal unless you really really really liked it I would do straight up.

If you just like it then you should get money in the deal. Yacht masters just don’t hold value well.

Maybe unpopular is the wrong word not holding value before being discontinued - fact. I know the market was different a couple years ago but these were always available and below MSRP. I was one of the candy colored crowd and said man I can’t believe I am paying 1500 more for a bezel lol but still did and at that time got the BLNR for 500 below MSRP. I really should have held onto that one.

I actually think the gmt has same value as YM. Should be even trade. Problem for your side is that the gmt will only continue to go up

2 months ago new...
Sub-10k retail 8.5k
Explorer-6.5k retail 6.5k
GMTBLNR:12k retail 9k
GMTBLRI:17-20k MSRP 9k
GMTLN:7.5k MSRP 9K

Now GMTLN:10-11k

That’s all I am saying.

If OP wants a change, his value has shot up, wait for a watch that he really wants and take advantage.

For me, it's the perfect watch. Incredibly versatile, functional, and a must have:

I'd much rather have the GMT LN than any Yachtmaster.

The GMT will always hold a higher space on the pecking order as far as desirability goes.

I have the same gmt2c... I will never part with it especially not for a YM. It’s the one watch that I can wear for any occasion and any where...
