I don't mind the white dial Explorer I at all! I've recently taken a real shine to white dialled sports watches too (e.g., the discontinued Seiko SNZF11 Sea Urchin and the new, recently released Omega Seamaster Professional 300).

Even the current white dialed DJ41, OP39 and Milgauss look nice too. I think Rolex will have a hit on their hands if they release a white dialled Explorer I for Baselworld 2020.

I've always said the 40mm Explorer II Polar (16550 / 16750) is one of the most underrated sports watches out there and still represents great value for money at its current price on the secondary market.

The regular Explorer is a fine looking piece, but I like my Air-King more, and although I will likely purchase the regular Explorer eventually, the Explorer II just might never make it "there" for me. Some of the older Air-King models look so similar to the Explorer though, but thats of no issue to me. It's a smart looking, well sized watch that carries a subtle elegance while exuding rugged undertones.

Interestingly, I used to really dislike the Daytona visually, but the Daytona C....wow...that was something else. However, that being said the original in certain configurations has grown on me a bit. Furthermore, the stainless steel bezel looks cheap to me, as almost EVERY homage watch or wanna be sports something similar, and after polishing a few times looks a bit sub par. Ceramic on the other hand takes an overall nice watch and makes it stellar. Even the Oris Aquis and some Omega models with the Ceramic look very appealing. However I'm not fawning over Omegas sans a few models just in passing, yet the Oris Aquis in green is an inexpensive and very pleasant watch in its own right. I may even like it more than the "Hulk" in some aspects. Its certainly not a wanna be Rolex, and that I appreciate.

Someone else told me to look at an squishy for a inexpensive, relatively, beater.

I think ceramic just doesn’t work for me. I had a SubC and thought it was too much. For Omega, I prefer the look of the speedmaster to the Daytona. Although I did try on a Platona and thought it was stunning, but too much in a different way

Anyway, good thing there are so many watches out there to choose from.
