Now either that event led to a huge rise in demand or a cut in Rolex's supply, and I'll give you a clue, it sure ain't sheet got anything to do with the supply.
Things would have started to pick up before the 2017 auction day due to the Paul Newman going up for auction it would have been published before auction. When a watch is estimated to sell for 5 million it has a huge impact on the brand its not every day a watch brings that sort of money. The actual price was three times more than estimates, thats seismic in the watch collecting community/world. Anyone with a Paul Newman would have sen the price rocket, the price of Daytona's too maybe not as much. And all Rolex prices would rise with the tide.

The grey market prices have gone through the roof while Rolex SS watches have gone from the windows.

Yeah, you are still way off the mark, no it was the hurricane that is Brexit that was the big trigger event, the PN's PN auction was not even a puddle in this context but credit to you for coming up with a new theory.

So how does UK Brexit affect a Swiss company in its supply and distribution and pricing of watches in Hong Kong, the US, Singapore, Canada, Austrialia and many other countries around the world?

Do a search here if you really want to know, many factors at play but Brexit was the trigger for first the UK but soon after this new world order.

I won the auction. Happy with the winning bid but as usual, Paypal fees were crippling.
Here's a wrist shot but that's all for you now - I need to get back to my studies.

All staff in the auction house know who bought it

Wow, the time you spent to do this makes this worth an award.

In hindsight, would have been a brilliant move by Rolex, as the market has gone absolutely nuts since. Wouldn't be surprised if they were the buyer.
