“To cut a long story short...”

In my profession my interactions with people are extremely time limited. Every time a bloke (and it’s always a man) begins a sentence this way, he embarks on the dullest, most irrelevant and longest tale imaginable. Makes my frigging teeth itch.

Honourable mention goes to “he doesn’t suffer fools gladly” (code for “he’s a bit of a nob”). The rest of us absolutely love suffering a fool or two.

Worst of all, using "would of" and "could of" for "would've" and "could've".

The word "definitely" imbedded in every sentence.

" That was definitely a great party"

"We definitely need more beer"

"She's definitely hot".

"Definitely"

It's so totally annoying.

Couple of Americanisms. Everything is "frikkin awesome"and you own a "bunch of watches". Also, would of and could of, instead of would have and could have, which is universal.

'at the end of the day'

example

'we had a lousy meal, terrible service, children running around screaming, but at the end of the day it was very cheap'.

Like the public figure that used the word "niggardly" a while back and all hell broke lose.

Everyone is walking around with almost all the information ever accumulated in their pocket and they can't look up a word they don't know.

Too busy posting cat pictures I guess.

It used to be amazing. Everything was amazing. Check out this amazing whatever I just found. This thing is amazing.

Apparently the ability to be in a state of amazement is super easy for most people.

we have a beautiful saying in england, its used by rich and poor, old and young, native and foreign, not a stupid saying though,

its 'bollocks'

its completely universal, unisex. and used by the educated and unenlightened,

an example

your mate in the pub is banging on about how man dident really go on the moon, and you just reply

'bollocks'!
