lol, yes maybe you are right

But seriously, it's true I feel a little compelled to defend my position on the existence and collectability of the MK I.

The MK I is without a doubt, for now at least for it is possible every year might show a variation, the rarest SS Professional model I can think of. The fact that so many coveted and bought it at double retail price shows it is desirable as well. Given this, if MK II stays the bezel from now on, then the MK I will be an insanely valuable watch in the future.

Why has not ANYONE made a youtube video instead of a photo shoot ? Na na no it is not irrelevant. Lots of skepticism still around. All I have is testimony of those who claim to have seen both side by side. To those people I ask if they can please make a video and post it on youtube.

The jury is still out on this one, and if it were confirmed it seems that more and more people became more interested in the pepsi when they learned of the modified colors.

I still wonder if there are differences, and still doubt that it will become more valuable. You are entitled to your opinion on future value, let me state mine also. It has nothing to do with personal taste I respect those who love their watches as they are.

Well, probably for the same reason I didn't even bother taking a picture when I saw the two side by side, because they must be side by side and will inherently appear different due to lighting.

I know we are strangers and it can be hard to take the word of one but, my good sir, I saw them together and they are different. I also doubted the idea until I had undeniable proof in front of me. It is simply a matter of fact.

That's fine, it really doesn't matter to me, everyone can have their taste and their opinion on what will be the end result. I can assure you, if the watch does go nuclear in value I will not be the one to realize the gain, because I am never selling mine.

I was wearing my BLRO (I believe a mkII Bezel, bought in March’19) to the Basel release preview/cocktail party a few weeks ago, and I saw the WG Pepsi mockups (both meteorite and blue dial) and the Bezel on the WG ones seemed to have much more vivid numerals on the Bezel. Can anyone confirm?

Here’s my observation about all of the BLRO’s, phone cameras (which is what most people use here) don’t really capture the bezel colors that my eyes see in person.
I first handled a WG BLRO in early 2018. Next was the dummy SS version at the Basel Trunk Show. Next one I saw was on my wrist, delivered in mid December.
I’ve only seen around four others since, all in grey dealers, and to my eyes they look like mine. I don’t doubt that the colors of the bezel could have been adjusted but it appears to me that lucky owners seem to be almost universally pleased with their watch. The idea that a slightly different batch will skyrocket in value seems like wishful thinking to me.

I have seen both today. The difference is really striking.

Why would anyone lie?

Why would you doubt posters on this site who have years of honest comment?

I was first on the list for the Pepsi at my local dealer when it was released in May last year so it's certainly a MK1 , I dropped it and smashed the crystal and bezel and had them replaced .
Now I still cant work out if it was replaced with a MK1 or MK2

The grey who owns this lot spent quite a bit of time with me. As an exercise, we sorted the Mk1 and Mk2’s. Very distinct difference under identical lighting with a good sample size. He has a mixed customer base - pretty balanced but leaning towards Mk2.
He had another tray out of shot.

Other greys agreed.

So who owns a MK1 and wants to meet up for a livestream to satisfy the naysayers. Let’s put this to rest. Maybe even bring a spectrometer. Let’s do it.

I called my AD to get his take on MK1 and MK2, he’s said they have done comparisons and there’s is a definite difference, his exact words were;

“Sunlight or natural light is easier to see the differences”
“The bezel looks pinkish no matter what light”
“Mark 2 is straight up deep red “
“Blue on MK1 is lighter”
“MK2 in pretty much every light is deep navy blue. Almost black “

I sent him pictures of my in natural sunlight, he said, and has always maintained, mine is MK1. I purchased mine in September. I’ve asked him to let me know when they get another Pepsi in, so I can bring mine in and see for myself.

Here the pictures I sent to him

I’ve seen both and I agree with him on all counts. Here’s my MK2.

There have been countless threads and photographs making comparisons. While the picture you posted is not the best quality to distinguish the differences, the story you shared is just another compelling point around there being a definitive difference in color.

I should be getting a call for a BLRO very soon (finally!) and if I had my choice, I would opt for a MK1 bezel. This has nothing to do with the prospect of them being more "rare" or more valuable over time. I just think the more pastel colors do a better job of checking the box on everything I love about a Pepsi.

Not just because I have one, but I much prefer the mk1 just because of the numbers being less pronounced. As for colours I would just prefer the mk2 if I had to pick but I cannot get over how bright the numbers are when you see it in the flesh.

Attached is a really crap picture.
Would hardly call it a huge difference if any, its hard to see any as both watches are covered in dirt and finger marks, plus one is more magnified and more direct light than the other..

It doesn´t matter if I doubt anyone. Don´t you think asking David SW and having him say he has never seen a difference when he has handled several is reason enough for a jury to be out on the issue ?

Suffice to say that it is not an established fact, no one knows the dates either, and looking at side by side videos would be extremely useful and one could appreciate differences better. Really, it strikes me odd that no such videos exist.

If there is a difference then the MKI is the 16710 faded dial version.

Honestly, what strikes me as odd is your denial of something that you have no direct experience with.

As for DSW, let him speak for himself.

This whole issue does not revolve around you being convinced.

I saw it. It exists. I am a grown man who does not make up stories about bezels. It’s just tiresome at this point.

Perhaps you can explain how is it that the numbers on the mk1 are "more pronounced" as another poster said in this thread. We should believe him right ? after all he too saw both side by side so I guess that makes it an established fact also. I ask this because the platinum (I think) is etched in the numbers so is this some kind of different platinum ???

Suggestion, instead of trying to draw people into a prove it to me situation, take the necessary steps to investigate it yourself. Use your own wits and resources and make it a summer adventure.

I can´t because my BLRO is the only one here. I have already asked my AD to let me know when a new one comes in so we can compare bezels. I already told him of this observation in TRF and he asked at Basel and no one could give him an answer. That is why I insist on the video.
