I have 4 Rolexes with 3 of them being on the highly desirable list and a 16622 Sold my 116520 cause I really never ever wore it and got 50% more than I paid. Better to let someone else enjoy it. Anyway I really fell for the Omega AT Annual Calendar with the grey teak dial. I got the original model with the WG outlines around the date and month window. Nice and heavy but also quite large (43mm). I'm not a small man by any means but it does have a presence. I believe it's an 8601 movement. All in all this is a nice quality peace. There's no other watch on this planet that I could get an annual calendar for under 10K. Look at PP, AP, ALS, etc. Bottom line is Omega is a very good value for the money and although I concur they have a different marketing strategy with all these releases etc. they still make quality products and their service at their boutiques is second to none. Definitely something to consider.

I am wearing this one today and it is one of my favorites. The strap is mucho comfortable on the wrist, the watch is solid, and most important, it looks good. I wouldn't compare it to Rolex. It's neither better nor worse, just completely different. I do love the Omega Co-Axial movements. Very accurate and extremely anti-magnetic. The AT comes with the Co-Axial 8900 movement which sets like a Rolex GMT with the first crown position moving the hour hand to set the date. |

I wouldn't hesitate. IMO the AT is underrated. Great dress and or everyday timepiece.

I have a few rolex and have owned at least 10 sports models over the years. Got my first omega in 2017 speedy pro and first thought was that it was every bit as good as my rolex for half the price. Two years later the omega has had far more wrist time than my rolex. Wouldn’t say i like omega more but it is a great watch and think its nice to have different brands, dont want to be that guy who has 20 watches and 18 of themare rolex lol

I'd buy a new Rolex. I'd buy a used Omega. Let someone else take the depreciation hit.

I have a first generation 41.5mm aqua terra. It has the ETA movement and the blue sunburst dial. I bought it new way over a decade ago (can’t honestly remember how long ago) and it has been a superb piece. Just as accurate as my Rolexes in a beautifully elegant design.
I do think Omega have gone a bit mad with their pricing recently though, with the new AQ range costing many multiples of what I spent. Pushing their prices into Rolex territory will not equate to the same increase In desirability. |

I have a Speedy which I have resized for my wife to wear. She loves it and it looks good on her her skinny wrist. You wouldn't think it would, but it works visually. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't get on all that well with it either. It is light and should be comfortable, but I never managed to get it to fit and sit right on my wrist.
The next watch I bought after the Speedy was my first Rolex, the 42mm Poar. I thought it was in another class entirely. Sure, it cost more, yet it seemed to me like better value for money because of the wearing comfort, the build quality, and the fact that the nearly 2 year honeymoon doesn't look like being over any time soon. I'm still knocked out by it. I'm going to have a close look at the Aqua Terra World Timer when it comes out in SS. It''s a watch which interests me greatly and I'm really looking forward to meeting it. |

Owned my Omega (first release Planet Ocean) for several years before I bought my first Rolex, and it remains one of my favorite watches still. It’s the only other watch I will wear.
That said, I’m glad I got my Omega when I did (over a decade ago!), because I do not like current styling of Omega watches. |

I absolutely love my 39mm blue dial Aqua Terra 2503.80. I’m actually a very new Rolex Sub owner and the Omega 2254.50 was my first “high end” watch. The AT was my 2nd. So I’m a little biased. The 8500 caliber ATs are a little too thick for my taste but imho the older and newer ones are just amazing watches.
I’d post some pics but my low post count won’t allow it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
