Adopted Cubs fan here, though I grew up rooting for the Athletics. Just got back from watching my first win at Wrigley since the 2016 NLCS when Montero pinch hit a grand slam against the Dodgers. Today I got to see Baez hit an opposite field 3-run homer, great game! My black cloud has dissipated officially.

As we live in Michigan, we never get Cubs games on cable, so we signed up for MLB. Totally worth getting to stream the games from just about anywhere when out of market.

Good Luck that’s what’s great about baseball anything can happen.

I would bet against ya, and take the Yankees in 5!

I don’t really have a “team”, more just an appreciation for the game. That said, I always cheer for the underdog.

My Dodgers had quite the weekend against the Rockies.
Three games, three different rookies hit game ending homers.

I’ve been a Cubs fan all of my life. I grew up spending my summer days with my grandparents and would always make sure to watch the 1:20 games on WGN. if they can manage to get a little more consistent this year, they can make a serious run at another title. I’m looking forward to Kimbrel joining the bullpen in the next couple of weeks.

Wow that is so awesome, see how many great experiences baseball gives us and how it is such a unifying sport even if we do follow different teams.

That guy Albert Pujols is worshiped by the Cardinals supportors even though he left for the Angels, but Albert Pujols is just a great human being helping challenged children and the community.

I know the Angels will not likely get to the World Series this year but you never know and baseball lets you live the dream, and sometimes dreams come true..

Great stories guys!! Thanks for sharing, I'm blown away.

I just got the best excuse to book a flight to LA...I've never been to a MLB game so that would be such a high just going for the first time.

I played baseball for a few years at University, played centre field. I just love the game.

Another die hard Mets fan here since the early 80's.

Unfortunately watching the bullpen with any kind of leads always makes me cringe(to say the least).

Had charter season Marlins tickets behind the plate, and took great pleasure in teasing Cubbie and Red Sox fan tourists about how painful a struggle it was to wait five whole years before they won their first World Series. Game 7 of the ‘93 Series (11 innings) was a peak sports fan experience for me.

But “my team” is the Miami Hurricanes baseball team ...

You should find a week where the Dodgers, Angels, and Padres are all in town and see all 3.

Petco park in San Diego is great. Dodger stadium is one of the oldest in MLB and has a more traditional feel. Angel stadium is somewhat gimmicky due to their previous ownership by Disney, but seeing Trout is generally worth the price of admission.

Long time Cubs fan here , and a huuuuge Trout fan! Hands down, one of the best players I've seen in a long time.

Our pen is struggling at the moment, but hoping Kimbrel will provide a much needed resurgence. Our offense has hit some snags as well and wish we stopped relying on long balls to win games - nothing wrong with station to station hitting, my pappy always said.

MLB experience: a buddy in HS was one of the Cubs' batboys and was able to snag me Mark Grace's practice 1B glove...among other things (batting gloves, shoes, endless supply of sunflower seeds, etc). Those were the days...<sigh>

Great glove, BTW. Back in my HS/college ball heydays, I only used A2K's and Rawlings Gold Glove. Anything less was uncivilized...

Steve, if you should come to the US, you have to post to this thread to let people know which cities you will be visiting, assuming you don't make a special trip to the SoCal area to see the Angels, Dodgers and/or Padres. A lot of posters, I am sure, would enjoy the opportunity to show you a good time at their local MLB ballpark. Certainly hope that is in the cards for you. Go Twins!

Seattle Pilots, for familial reasons. You may know them as the Milwaukee Brewers now.

Love the Pilots connection! Go Brew Crew!! Member of the True Blue Brew Crew, it sounds like!

Remember Mike Hegan, Tommy Harper, Marty Pattin and Skip Lockwood from that team that moved to Milwaukee, and how crushed I was listening on my transistor radio in school when the Brewers lost their first game in Milwaukee to Steve's (then) California Angels, 12-0, to begin the 1970 season.

Not to hijack the thread, but the man standing next to my dad there is Jay Littleton. Jay and my dad remained good friends long after baseball was over for them. It just so happens that the ballpark where A League of Their Own, and Eight Men Out were filmed is called now Jay Littleton Park.

Respect the Indians, and was rooting for them against the Cubs in WS. They might very well catch the Twins this year. But I am glad they retired Chief Wahoo. I think it was time. Interesting to see if they are buyers or sellers at the trade deadline. To me, they can be a wild card or division champs still.

Same here (though I'm not a Pats fan). As I've said to my two boys - "you live in a world where, every few years, the Red Sox win the World Series. This is not the world I grew up in."

Was at that game! That entire series was stressful. I try to take the family to at least one Dodger game a year. The kids seem to be taking a liking to it (with enough popcorn, ice cream and dodger dogs ).

Can’t ever count out Tito Francona. While we LOVE Chief Wahoo in Cleveland, I get it. I honestly thought we had it when Rajai Davis hit that HR to tie up Game 7 against the Cubbies. Still, what a GREAT SERIES! If any city can pick up the mantle of longest championship drought, in losing to the team with the longest drought, it’s Cleveland. Go Tribe!

Yankees fan since 1993 as a little kid; Paul O'Neill and Mattingly were my idols. Admittedly, it's been fairly smooth sailing for me since '96 (can't say the same for the Knicks).
I will say, I've had some great/interesting baseball experiences as a yankee fan going to a college in Boston in the mid-2000s.

Padres fans here although over the last few years we've actually become excited watching many teams play including a majority of AL & NL west teams. We've got too many stories to count over just the past four years of having season tickets. Anything from all my children delivering game balls to the mound, being the play ball kid of the day, meeting players in the clubhouse and dugout to catching a bat and foul balls, including one during the World Baseball Classic USA vs Venezuela. I've even once got to ring the opening bell for the Padres to start the game.
