I have been shopping C24 for the last few months and this has been my experience on almost every single watch I inquired about, such as 126711, 126715, 116505, 116508, AP 25960OR, AP 15202OR, PP 5167R, even some 126233 and 126330.

One seller even made a checkout offer reply to me on a watch I was ready to buy on 47th St (after going back and forth with them on the price for 3 days), only to tell me that "the girl in his showroom" sold it to a customer who walked in 2 hours before I was to show up and make a deal. But he graciously offered to get me another one of the same watch tomorrow, albeit $2500 higher because supply is tough.
That's absolutely unreal! Thanks for shedding some light on this practice through your personal experience. I do understand that you've gone after some high demand pieces, but the outright "we sold this 2 hours ago" is such a line of crap.

I wasn't aware that most of these C24 grey's are just advertising then scrambling to fill orders. I guess it makes sense, it's just really shady and the vibe I'm getting from this thread is that there's a bit of corruption (AD's) and smoke and mirrors from grey's that are going to really hurt this industry and hobby soon.

Class act.
..and like many in that thread have mentioned that it helped them get what they want from the AD .So,the small token gesture is not because of pure gratitude .May I suggest,in many cases.
Don't be naive .

Like others from different parts of the world have already mentioned,it will be awkward. In my country,it will be seen as an attempt to bribe.

I may differ from you,regarding opinion,but will never make character remarks.I haven't met you,so how can I ?

Am I to suppose naivety is not a character remark then?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your opinion and disinclination to tip/gift people. I respect that.

You have openly mocked the idea of giving a gift, and vicariously the people that do. That is not the same as quietly holding a different belief related to a difference of culture.

If people insist on paying these silly prices then these sellers will continue to sell them.
