It's amazing looking but I do have to wonder if it will be hard to read the time? Just looks like the hands get lost in that dial

i could chose between the meteorite and but dial versions and went for the blue, also for reasons of legibility.

yes, i could have bought either but did not fancy the met. i dislike confusing dials. also, the dials can be swapped over in a short while, according to what i heard from two ADs. met dial is supposed to cost 3K USD more or less.

I've seen that same type of meteorite dial on a DD and it was stunning.

But pardon me for asking, did you put a deposit down and get a piece of paper stating that the next one is yours? Afterall, waitlists seems to be about as real as a unicorn. Especially if the AD gets one a year. Without something more of a commitment from the AD, there could be a lot of disappointment after 12 months waiting for a watch that went to someone else. Afterall, do you expect that no one else will want one in that time that is a bigger player than you?

It almost seems like an AD saying 'we'll add you to the waitlist' is the polite way to move a customer along, all the time knowing they won't add any name to any list. But if you have a deposit with a receipt from the AD stating what watch you are waiting for gives you a better chance.

Anyway, it is a great looking watch. I wish you luck. I'd want one but out of my price range.

My AD told me they will get only 1 of these this year.

Gorgeous watch! I want to add a Meteorite dial to my collection but prefer it on the DD40. BTW, huge congrats!

its growing on me Hope that it won't take too long to source one, but is there really that many buyers out there at that price level

With all the congratulations in this post, I guess that we can conclude that roughly 50% need to brush up on their "skim reading"

Davidsw sold one today in about an hour listed for 10k over msrp so I guess buyers are banking on Rolex limiting distribution. We shall see.

I’ve had mine for two weeks now. It is a stunning piece. I always wanted a Platona but I have also always admired the WG BLRO. Once I saw the meteorite dial I couldn’t resist. You will love this time piece.

A meteorite dial is something I would truly marvel at. To say out of this world is stating the obvious. I'm fascinated with it and can say that is definitely my grail watch. And a true grail watch. Speaking of grails... Can someone please tell me when the grail was ever last found? Seems as if the Cup of Christ is being found every day lol.

I had a Daytona with meteorite dial and loved it; sold it for a platona. Sorry, spell-check but I won't change it to platoon.

Stunning watch! Unfortunately, it is too heavy for me (assuming it’s similar weight as Smurf).

I held the Smurf and my GMT in opposite hands simultaneously and could not get over the weight difference ... the Smurf literally felt 2X. I don’t really like watches that are too heavy.

Looks beautiful but not comfortable over the course of the day.

That will be awesome. Saw a DD with meteorite dial in the flesh a month ago. Very nice.

Update on this.

Went to another AD, they said next incoming meteorite is not reserved by any customer and will come latest end of year. Now what to do, secure the EOY delivery or wait for first AD to call? Second AD is also very nice family owned and operated but the first one sells Patek which is where I ultimately want to end up.

Anyway in my region this does not seem to be such a difficult model to source. Not strange when there is a steel version almost a 4th of the price.

Depends on how bad/quickly you want it. If you can wait, go with the Patek AD. But I've also learned that sometimes passing on the first available ends up with none available...

Congrats! Looks so good. Can you share more pics from different angle under different light condition? Would be interesting to see bezel color change. Wear it in good health.

A big bonus is that bezel colours and the meteorite has clear meaning for this deal I'm celebrating, almost like it was made for this purpose.

So now the long(?) wait begins. AD had one (and only so far) recently that was sold. Got the impression next one would be for me. They said they didn't know when next one is coming and didn't want to be pushy as they were very polite about it.

Does anyone have a good assumption how often ADs can expect these on average? It is an independent but not so small dealer for this area.
