IMO, there's quite a bit of overlap in your collection as it stands now anyway (2 DD, 2 GMT, everything is an Oyster case)... I'd pass and diversify a little.
I'm curious what you're looking at? My collection is as well balanced and perfect as I want it to be.

Fyi, I have every single Metal (SS, YG, WG, RG, Plat), with Oyster, Jubilee, and Presidential bracelets. Pretty sure I covered every single thing I've ever dreamed of within the Rolex lineup.

I’m not sure where is the question?
You like the watch
It’s below current prices
You can afford it
You don’t have the AD relationship to buy at MSRP
then where’s the question??

Go for it man!

I paid 8000k USD over retail for mine. They seem to have gone up since.

Really did not want to pay over retail but if I don't pull the trigger now, I will never be able to buy for retail with the current state of affairs. I do not have those kinds of relationships with ADs because I've purchased mostly from DavidSW.

Have heard from reputable people that the SS Daytona will continue to resell at this price point.

Gonna sleep on it and make a decision in the AM.
Go on and don’t look back. If you wait you will just end up dead or paying more!
I have not yet made the step towards 116520. I am doing it for three years now. Back then it was 16 k, now somewhat between 23 and 26 k.

I also vote for buying it, not because of the hype, but because you obviously like Rolex, you obviously like the Daytona, so you may as well get it and add a white dial which is missing from your great collection ;)

Of course the White dial 116500 is a magnificent watch, Black dial too for that matter I just think the constant obsession with residual values is taking something away from the pleasure of Rolex collecting where it now seems about bragging rights as oppose to extolling the various merits of different models.

I am however very surprised with that amazing collection that you haven’t managed to establish a suitable relationship with an AD that would enable you to purchase one at retail?

Dmitri,

Your current Daytona would see me through this SS shortage.

I would work with an AD and try to score an SS ceramic at list down the track.

Had to to check the £26k price, Watchfinder are just shy of £26k. This is beyond crazy.

I'm gonna go against the crowd. I think, for the money, I would go with a Daytona on OF. Or leather. You've already got the metal bracelets covered and would give you a different look and feel within your collection.

The combination of PM/OF Daytona has worked well for me. But, it's tough to argue with the stainless model either. Look forward to pics of the incoming, my friend.

Its a great watch. At MSRP its a no brainer. Not sure about premium unless you really want it.
