Why Fluted?

So we can say the Rolex fluted bezel is like screws for Royal Oak bezel, was functional at one point but now integral part of the design.

Of course there's the other functionality aspect with regards to the Command bezel on the Skydweller.
The bling factor is very effective though and hard to beat.

Only integral on the Skydweller.
It's as iconic as the Cyclops on a Rolex as well

I think fluted dresses up what otherwise can seem more plain, provide a little flash, and also help hide scratches. This WG wedding band is 15 years old and beat to heck and it hides it pretty well.
