I concur, the 216570 is the way to go for the Explorer II. I've got got one in black and absolutely love it.

Congratulations!

I picked up a 214270 earlier this year and it is getting a lot of wrist time.
It’s slowly becoming my favorite watch. I had passed it over many times but my wife ordered one for me last year and the AD came through a few months later.

I would like to know what you dislike about the white 114300. The only flaw I see is the lack of micro adjustment. My grail is a white 5711 and I keep wanting to add the white 114300 to tide me over.

From what I understand the case and bracelet are the same on the 214270 and 114300 but the differences are the clasp and the rounded bezel on the OP and flat bezel on the ExpI.

The white OP is a beautiful watch, just for me it didnt do it. Its a very nice and easy watch to wear all day and it gets alot of attention but again just wasnt for me.

Ive had a 214270 before and once I sold it I hated every minute there after so when I had that chance to buy another it was a no brainer. The case and bracelet are the exact same. I actually wish I could use the bracelet from the OP on a Milguass as thats the only part I dont like are the PCL.

That makes sense. Luckily I have yet to let go of any watch in my collection other than an RGM Pilot that got no wrist time after I picked up my 116710.

That must have been hard not having it. Enjoy the 214270!

Was your earlier Explorer a Mark I or Mark II?

The reason I never purchased one of these is that I can never be certain I am finding one with the correct finish on the case, sometimes the bevel is gone or the brushing on the lugs doesn't like as it's brushed in the right direction and amount of brush too much, too little. I would reach out to TRF members who can show you photos of the correct finish then look for the watch. The price is not important to me because these are always expensive, but what is important to me is that I get the correct representation on the case finish, which is part of what makes the 5 digit cases so nice to look at. Of course you would like box and papers too!
