Congrats! This could also work for me, since I also dislike the cyclops.

Nice, love the no-cyclops look and have been wanting to do it with my GMT-LN but didn't know you could shave it off, I thought you had to swap in a Daytona crystal. I already have my PCLs brushed so maybe chopping off the cyclops is the next mod ;)

Cheers

You will want to swap crystals. The ceramics I believe have AR under the cyclops and it doesn't look well.

5 digits do not have it.

Love the brushed PCL's

Lug holes are key

on Scurfa rubber, the most comfortable out there in my opinion and I've owned RubberB / Everest.

He's a member here I think.

A set of 16610LV hands arrived today......

Dropping the head off tomorrow to get those put on and the bracelet is with Mike at RolliWorks for a refresh.

Next few weeks should see it all come together.

Congrats and Enjoy!!... Good decision on that one. I didn't think a 16610 came with a cyclops?

Took a Sub and knocked it off.

The 16600 does not come with one.

Well it is what you get when you prefer the Sea Dweller ascetics but do not want the HEV or thickness.

First you start off by calling Rik about an Omega you have in for service. Then you continue to shoot the shit as it's easy to do with Rik... Then you ask about a Tudor 79190 as it checks the "Sub in the collection" box and if Rik happens to ever run across one.

Then Rik says - "Nothing at the moment but I've got this 16610 here that I can make a good deal on.."

Go on....

Does it have Lug holes?
- yes

SEL?
- yes

Price?

So within 24 hours I went to hunting a 79190 to having a 2001 model year 16610. Rik was the man of the hour and I couldn't pull my wallet out fast enough. I think it is due to the fact I call to pick his brain every few weeks or maybe if he gets me squared away I'll leave him alone

Long story short - Rik not only has provided excellent service for me (multiple watches) but can also be the source for diamonds in the rough. So if you are hunting something specific might be worth giving him a call.

-- back to story --

I hate the cyclops. It is the panty line of Rolex, flame away but I just do not like them. Nothing against date models as many of my watches have them- that said my Rolex journey has been 100% non date models (114060 / 14060M / 214270). Well I got a hell of a deal and told myself I'll see if it grows on me at all. Well FedEx overnight arrived and within 5 minutes of having it on I decided this isn't going to work.

I've done the torch/razor method on other watches in the past but thought I'd give the hammer/knife method a go. It works and works damn well. I used a fixed blade and small gunsmithing hammer....quick short tap and the cyclops went flying.

End result is the hotness.

I am also pleased with the 93250 bracelet. It is a nice mix of old and new as I own/have owned the 97200, 93150, 77200, and now this model. I need to see if my 77200 (214270 bracelet) will fit but we can look at that later.

So project SubDweller has been completed. The lug hole case is perfect as I am a strap whore and love Terry's straps from ToxicNatos - I've got a box with several dozen nato's and Terry hands down makes the best.

Without any more delays here is the newest addition to the family.

Doesn't hurt it is a flat-4 either.

Enjoy, nice piece
