I spoke to my wife. And she says that she’s not okay with the fact she overpaid. But at this point thinks it’s not worth the hassle to get the money back because a. I wore it on my wedding day and the sentiment at this point is worth more than what she paid and b. It doesn’t seem to be a fake so it’s not like I have a total clunker.

So I believe at this point it may just stay in my family. I don’t dislike the watch, I’m more upset with the fact that she got hosed (scammed in Canadian lol)

Herewith speaks a practised and unscrupulous vendor, that has no morals. I'd deal with him no further and get a return of money from PayPal, citing the many issues.

Unfortunately, he’s going to hose many more unsuspecting people in the future. “New old stock” my arse!

On the bright side, the deco design is quite striking. Your wife has good taste.

Tried that. He pretty much said we were gonna agree to disagree and he was going to deal with the dispute when it comes in

What a guy. If we haven't posted the seller's name yet, I would like to see it exposed.

No kidding! Please reveal it as a public service.

And I'm really sorry you've had to go through all this. Please let your (awesome) wife know that an entire online watch community has her back.

Same seller has false claim about another watch. The listing says it is stainless steel, but there is horrible brassing under the lugs. His store is basically all junk, and his sale of the Tudor was obviously a huge windfall for him. I'm not surprised he won't return the money without a fight.

I'll remember the name PondMillsWatchCo. This is what I dislike about vintage dealers. I'd rather spend more from an estate auction than some dealers. At least there, the risk is known and accepted. Plus, you're more likely to find something all original.

The movement is from about 1945, so despite all else watch is misrepresented. And certainly appears refinished. Please do not mistake this for an endorsement of the seller but there were co dialed models made for the canadian market at that timehttps://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1219/5194/products/980083237_o_1024x1024.jpg?v=1524448582https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1219/5194/products/980083273_o_1024x1024.jpg?v=1524448582.

It was truly a wonderful jesture on her part!

PayPal tends to side with the buyer for disputes. At least it wasn’t very much money.
