Be interesting what those tats look like in 20-30 years when the skin starts to sag. Should be a good laugh conversation guessing game at the old folks home. "What did you say it was supposed to look like"? If ya like em, get em. The most unique individuals may be the ones with no ink!

Just have one, on my shoulder. Got it while in the Navy and my ship had a port call in Portsmouth, England. I remember it cost me 25 pounds. Navy tradition and all.

Well I’m sure most everyone on TRF has seen the tattoo on my left hand, and I’ve got a few that are hidden by clothing. The one on my right arm probably hasn’t been posted here...I’m retired now, and got the one on my arm (the part that shows) to celebrate retiring!

You know what they say about people with Tattoo's. They dont really care what other people think. Got my first Tattoo at age 55 and now I'm 60. I think it will look good till the day I get cremated. With my occupation I wasnt able to get them early on and always wanted one. Bucket list type of thing so I waited till I retired. Both my sons have them and my youngest son does them as a hobby. Times have changed and they are more main stream now. Love my Rolex and my animals..............

100%. Your skin is the most expensive real estate there is. I’m not well versed with American style tattoos but getting tattooed by Horiyoshi or shige would be a serious honour.

My doctor is fully covered head to toe with tattoos and he became an MD years after getting two full sleeves.

I know many multimillionaires either in the corporate world or entrepreneurs that are heavily tattooed

It isn’t the 50s anymore

I can see your point, but in hindsight it all depends on how those who are tattooed carry themselves


There’s a big difference between someone who is heavily tattooed, dresses like a slob and has a harsh demeanour or someone who is well dressed, and carries themselves well.

We live in a day and age where people are able to express themselves openly, flaunt their passions even if its on their skin. The people who aren’t accepting of it are usually people who are on their way out of society from a workplace standpoint. ie: the old school boomers who are on their way out into retirement anyway (doesn’t apply to all and I mean no offence) this typically means the corporate world 10 years from now won’t even bat an eye when seeing a visible tattoo


I have my hands, my neck, whole back and arms tattooed and I get along with everyone I meet and can still comfortably put food on the table

I also can’t go anywhere publicly for more than a couple days without at least one or two people in any age group telling me “love your ink!” Or “wow where did you get those done!”

It’s always a good conversation starter and allows me to me more social with strangers which I love

I have quite a few Tatts, but all above the short sleeve line.

4 were done in Afghanistan. One of the lads had a semi pro set up in his room. Wife hates them like hahaha.

However the Lads bought a $20 gun from flea bay, kid you not! Used to take turns tattooing stuff on each other for a laugh. New needles of course.

Even tried it myself, its not as easy as it looks. Tried to draw a frond on a lads stomach, looked more like the Burj Kalifa, didn't help the needle was sticking right out and probably tattooed his liver lol.

Have a chest piece done with tap tap, that looks quite good.
