OP - its depends on what type of buyer you are. If you’re like me, you don’t give a flying f*** what others think or if they know you bought a watch that is 3x the retail of a similar looking ss piece. My view is that “i know” that I bought the pinnacle model of the variant, and thats all that matters to me. However, I’m the guy who buys an AMG or Porsche Turbo and asks for the model variant badges to be deleted.

I think with your history of owning a platinum Daytona and a WG Sub, among others, that you like the heft and subtlety of PM. So that choice will likely continue to make you happy.

Yeah, that is precisely why I will get the WG Pepsi. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't making a mistake.

I’m on the list for the meteorite Pepsi as well. I launched my black dial WG Pepsi the moment Basel 2019 announcement occurred.

This watch is not easy to find. I hope you find one, good luck!

Does it make sense to buy WG Pepsi?

I would love to have the meteorite dial. But the black sang to me more. Had the WG before the launch of 126710BLRO. Sold it. Got the 126710BLRO. Did not like the jubilee. Had an oyster bracelet. Tried the oyster on the SS version. Missed the WG.

So I’m one of the crazy guys who went back to WG 116719. There is just something about it. Love the heft of WG. I’m sure you are making the right call. Let’s see pics when you get it.

It makes sense if you like the Rolex more than the Patek. It doesn't if you don't.

I’d say go for the Meteorite BLRO. That dial is something special. For me it ticks all the boxes. Good luck with your decision.

going to be difficult to acquire at any AD. they’ve not taken many orders for the meteorite and there won’t be many. this is based solely on my conversations with my AD.

YMMV.

The WG or Meteorite dial GMTs, two fantastic references....you really can't go wrong but if I had the choice, I'd go for the meteorite dial...think it's pretty special and gives the GMT an obvious different yet classy look.

Go for it. You know exactly what you want, and that’s the important consideration.

Best choice IMHO. The Rolex is splendid. Personally I am not a PP fan.

I have the black face WG GMT and a SS 5990 and personally I would take the TT complication every day of the week. All that said the GMT is what Rolex is - a tank that can be worn anywhere at anytime and once you go PM Rolex you will never go back to SS

You could always just purchase the SS Pepsi and an additional oyster bracelet from RSC (polished centre links or brushed)

I wish you best of luck in finding one. Obviously a watch made in lower quantities. Are you trying Ben Bridge where you bought the WG Daytona?

I’ve had both. Sold the wg model and picked up ss. I like the jubilee bracelet and the colors on recent bezels are darker/ more true. I miss the shimmer of white gold and of course there is the weight difference. Both are enjoyable but the meteorite dual is out of this world. See what I did there?

Obviously not able to predict the future on the still produced meteorite dial. Black dial is rare one as it’s already discontinued.
GMT is also a very robust watch, not so sure about Patek in this regard.
Given its a rather heavy gold watch its safety clasp with Easylink is quite helpful too.
I was thinking the same thing. This is a monster hit in the making.

The black dial WG just got everything right in what it’s trying to be. (Except maybe the glide lock lacking).
Having said that the YG green dial GMT is also awesome just in a different way.

I personally like the contrast and the legibility of the black dial. Meteorite dial suggests the solid metal body watch and that looks impressive as well.
A little bit like YG Lapislazuli DayDate with no numerals. Maybe less practical but impressive.

Couldn't agree more on the YG. Unfortunately for me it took it's discontinuation for me to come to my senses on this one.

I love my WG Pepsi. The weight, the look the feel and I could care less about what anyone else thinks or such. I don’t get why anyone would buy a $30k watch based on what anyone else would think..

I think so. But then, I wouldn't spend the current market prices on a steel one either. It's just too much money, and I don't care for the bracelet either.

I’m not sure you can easily source a meteorite dial GMT. I have a great relationship with my AD, and getting one isn’t looking good for me. Hope you have better luck!
