I've read conflicting opinions about water resistance, including from watchmakers who argue the more conservative position. My understanding is that the speedmaster is splash resistant, and that's not good enough for what happened today.

This was a powerful, driving storm, and we were all completely soaked along with all of our stuff. It was great to be able to gather everything and leave without worrying about a watch. No, I wouldn't trust my speedy in those conditions.
