Right. Because everyone looks so stupid wearing their Sub with a suit. I guess you have the pulse on fashion in Tyler, Texas......

in your eyes perhaps, a tuxedo with a sports watch? That’s a faux pas if there ever was one

I wore a BLNR on a navy tux for my own wedding and thought it looked great so my vote goes for BLNR

It doesn’t matter. Wear whatever you like best. No one will even notice, except for the people there that will think you shouldn’t wear a bezel with a suit.

Etiquette would dictate you do not wear a watch to a social event like a wedding. You have no reason to need the time in civilised company

Other that that tidbit, Id say go with the sub. The full black bezel is less ‘attention grabbing’.

Agree. These "you must wear a dress watch with no second hand" rules seem quaint in the 21st century.

While not beating a dead horse here, a Cartier tank would be ideal. There are sooo many vintage watches that can be purchased for under $500.00. A nice Hamilton, Bulova, or an Omega would be far more appropriate. Trying to fit a square peg into a round hole is what happens when a $8,000 sports watch tries to become a dress watch. Spend a few hundred instead of a few thousand then you won't have to try to make something into what it's not.

Wearer is pairing with a suit. Tux is only for the wedding party. I think there’s a big difference between being in the wedding party wearing a watch that may distract attention and being in attendance. Unless one’s heading to the queen’s wedding I think a Sub or BLNR works just fine for those in attendance. A Submariner on a bracelet is fine in 2019 for a wedding that isn’t overly stuffy.

One on each wrist? Lol

I would go with BLNR due to PCLs or jubilee.

I wore my 16570 Exp 2 for years with a suit, and imo it worked great. I somewhat agree, that a proper dress watch would be better suited, but these days it really doesn’t matter.

My “dress watch” is a JLC reverso which technically is a sports watch.

If it’s the 5 digit sub that you have that’s the one to wear

Agree completely. Most people these days see any watch, especially a Rolex, as a dressy / fancy thing. I was just at a wedding days after I got my 116610LV where the father of the bride is a watch guy (he had his Calatrava on), and he loved my Sub with my suit.

By that reckoning why not go in jeans and a t shirt?

Either is fine.

Personally I’d go with the Submariner.
