Again, the point of this is futile. ROLEX is the only one who knows the answers and we all can spout our OPINIONS all day long and in the end..there will never be a consensus. We're all just !

I believe world wide, TT sell equally as well. True, with the current market all watch sales are in the tank and I would imagine as the price of the luxury goods goes up, the sales will go down. In a good economy, TT have traditionally sold well.

You also can't compare the resale value of a TT Daytona to a SS one because only less than approximately 5% of all Daytona's made are SS so by simple supply and demand it has in the past kept their resale value high.

2009 is only 2+ months old. It is tough to make any substantial comparisons based on that data. I know when I got my TT Sub they had a several month long wait list.

But saying I don't care is an answer. I was not saying I don't care about your opinion, your thread, or the results. I like TT and SS and I don't have a preference when looking for a watch. Style has an element of fad and I am not concerned with what is the best seller at a point in time. So when it comes to which one to buy, TT or SS, I don't care. I buy the one I like best.

The one thing i didn't like about my TT blue Submariner 2008 model, was that the middle links are hollow.. felt kind of fake/cheap.
On the other hand, my TT everose TOG has nice solid links and looks...sweet !

All in all i think the TT will become more populair with the new type bracelets..

i definetly think that the SS has been selling alot lately, but in asia, africa, the middle east...when ppl buy a rolex and spend 10K, they want to see gold! hence, i think the TT isnt popular among the younger crowd tooo much, being us, but almost everyone i know over the age of 35 that has a rollie....its TT or full gold, its the perception people from the this part of the world carry, bang for the buck, thats what i have observed......and after a certain age...i guess there is some sort of societal belief that its good to show alittle gold.....

"I just got a new rolex..." - 1

"how much did you spend" - 2

"X amount of $$$..." - 1

"what no gold? for a watch that much?.....look at my timex....it tells the time tooo...what a fool....sooo much money and no gold....hahaha....rolex made a fool of you" - 2

lol.....its not bad in any sort of way at all....i guess this is just a sociological perspective....plus i guess a large majority of the SS purchasers are from the internet generation....hence on TRF.....i realize i am stereotyping, and they're are a 123,565,576,675,464 exceptions..... i guess the SS vs TT is about a matter of perception....what part of the world you come from....and how u regard beauty

OP wasn't asking for your opinion on if you like TT or not.

The question was if you think SS sells more than TT?

As for the question, if you look in AD's windows there are in general far more TT's than there are Stainless Rolex's so it might stand to reason they sell more TT's and as someone has already said taste's vary depending in which part of the world you are in. A survey of just 4 AD's isn't very subjective either.

I have one of each just in case

I guess it depends on where you live as to what sells better. My AD told me they sell more Women's TT Date Just than any other Rolex. They have one display case for Women's TT Date Just and one display case for all the men's different styles!!!

To answer your question, all you need to do is make one trip to Asia and the Far East countries like Hong Kong, Singapore.

You will be hard pressed to see steel Rolexes. On the other hand, virtually everyone sports TT and full gold models......that's how popular they are in that part of the world.

Since there is no way to verify the answer to the OP question, all comments will be opinions. With that said, when the OP states sales, is that new 2009 stock, NOS, sales in total in 2009, or is used part of the equation. Reason I ask is that I called a grey dealer who sales all of the above, around the world, and he gave me two answers.

Now that I think about it are you asking about ADs only? Geez, need more data.

Yes, and even the mid-size 31 mm.....which is very common in Hong Kong.

You crack me up!

I too found it hard to believe, but according to James Dowling, who reported this from Basel, it's true. The most sold Rolex is a ladies TT DJ, which makes up at least half of all Rolex watches sold.

I suspect it may include 31mm models as well. Not sure though.
