Thanks, it was unexpected but was advertised locally and don't come up too often! Unfortunately wont be wearing this one, never thought I'd see the day

Totally understand your reasoning here. What serial was it? If it’s later or random/scrambled, would have the parachrom blue hairspring.

Its a 2012, random serial. I wasn't sure if the blue hairspring was put in all random serials or just some of the later ones, but figured other than that it has all of the other upgrades. Admittedly all my 14060 research was done in a bit of a hurry

I like both two and four liners. I happily own a four.

Preferences will vary between people, which is to be expected, but I’m puzzled by occasional comments denigrating four liners as modern aberrations of the classic two liners.

What about the Reference 6538 (Four Line): 1956-1959?

Anyone have a 2 Liner with patina developing on the plots? This is top of my current want list.

I have a 1992 14060. The patina is starting to come in. The watch became considerably darker in just one year! From off-white to a light coffee color

I do like the four-line 16613 Sub I own, but looking back I just prefer the two-liner dials.

Still thinking about searching for a full set two-liner.

So many watches, so little time.

Amazing! I've looked at loads of 14060's but not been able to find any available that are going/gone through this phase. I have an '87 Root Beer that's gone through this and looks great.

Please post pics if yoy are able to

Which 14060 would you want?

I vote 2.

My reasoning:
I’ve lusted for a 5513 for quite sometime. I still will end up with one, but finding the right one isn’t something to rush into.

To me, the 4-line 14060 doesn’t have the look of the 5513, so I opted for the 14060m. The two lines of text were simple, and gave the aesthetics I was after (5512/3), price range was perfect, and the right example came my way.

True story: TS sends me a text asking if there is anything I’m after. I said “14060m, full set, unpolished, excellent condition, flat-four, oval-O dial. He replies- “you’ll never believe it, but I’m holding that exact watch”. Deal was done.

Anyway- I feel the 14060m is like a somewhat modern retro throwback to the 5513 and I love it.

Just sent it in for service (no polish), and it’s getting wrist time.

2-Liner with Luminova. I like having functional lume and am less of the fan of the tritium patina look (gasp!)

I'm thinking of buying a 4 liner and the seller claims/thinks it's 2006 but I found a thread on here that they are only from 2008 to 2010. On Wiki it says the 4 liners Certified chronometer is from 2007–2012 and if I put the serial code into Bobs serial finder (the watch in question is a Z serial number) it says it's a 2006 to 2007 model. Anything to worry about? Expert advice needed please!

Two line for me. Was my first Rolex purchase. Sadly have to let this one go to help fund another piece (seen here with said SD4K)

I have a Z Series 4 liner 14060M from 2007.
The last of the 2 liner Series was also from 2007.
You should be good to go.

Need some help, I was about to buy a 2012 non-date from a reputable dealer but the watches plastic card says 14060 only. It does not have the 'M' on the end. Is this OK? It's a 4-liner and the engraved rehault.

All the best guys ...

There are arguments for either. The Tritium has the potential to develop patina, the 4 liner is more modern...
