There is only one thing better than enjoying our watch collecting; that’s sharing it with other enthusiasts.

Had a similar thing happen earlier this year. I was at Phoenix airport early one morning and while purchasing some water in the news shop, a very young man at the cash register asks - "Is that is a Speedmaster Professional that you're wearing?'. He commented on how much he loved it and dreamed of owning one some day. He was so genuine. It was a very brief, but nice exchange.

That's a great story. I've been the "young guy" in that scenario when a few years ago I was trying on a Nautilus and my grey dealer said in the other booth I have a VIP client who has a rare 5711P and would I like to try it on? I'd never seen one so I said yes and the man was kind enough to walk over and magnanimously let me try his on, it was a great eyes-wide experience and we both got alot out of the encounter, and I hoped one day I would be on the other side of the booth, and rather luckily I have been the sempai a few times now.

Nice story! Great encounter for both parties involved. I’m sure he appreciated it as much as you.

Nice post! I only wish his name was Del the shower ring salesman and you ended up sharing a twin bed in Wichita.

Awesome story! I have to say, these stories get me excited; given I have been a huge watch fan since I was a child. I'm in my early 30s now and feel as though my generation has almost no interest in watches anymore. Most I know around my age are only into smart watches or none at all. Sad to see, hoping more jump on board with this young mans mentality!

I love this.

You sir are a man I’d like to chill with one day.

I’ll tip one to you this evening. And to your new friend.
