I think you should have the model you like best! If you like the date, get the date model. I personally do not like a date on my watch. It may sound very lazy but, I don't like keeping up with changing it for months with less than 31 days........
My Rolex picks are all non-date models: Explorer I, Milgauss and the 14060M Sub. I do have a DSSD but the date is small (I don't ever change it).

Smart move. It's obvious if you didn't switch it would have driven you crazy (been there before my man...I feel your pain). The minute you put the Sub Date on your wrist the extra $ and ?'s will be a distant memory and you'll be extremely happy you made the switch. There's nothing worse than buying something and not having your heart into it 100%...good for you to realize you made a mistake and took action to correct it instead of trying to talk yourself into liking something more than you really do. Cheers.

No, I wouldn't say that sounds lazy, I would cut right to the chase and say that's definitely lazy. I could change the date function, reset the time and clean each one of my watches during any one of my daily morning dumps...what else should I be doing (besides reading TRF on my laptop of course).

I prefer the No-Date. But I don't wear my watches on your wrist.

I got the Exp for: 36 mm, pro hands, no cyclop
I love the watch Now I just think for a second when I need the date But I am also looking at a white roman DJ, not so sceptical about the cyclop now But I would also hate to have a Rolex and not on my wrist |

The extra money your shelling out is nothing compared to what you paid for the watch.
Why would you spend that kind of money for a watch you dont like. The AD is giving you a good deal, jump on it |

If you want a dive watch with a date and looks clean, go with the SD. I used to have a 14060, liked the cleaner look and thought that I could live without a date, but I thought wrong.
I sold it and bought myself the 16600.

If you prefer the date model over the non date sub I would try trading it in, If there's one thing I hate it's a watch with out a date.

Go with the watch you really like to look at. I was all about watches with a date function until that little Daytona incident. There is always a date around somewhere.

Update
Well everyone i have done the swap and am well happy, the 16610 feels like a totally different watch, a few things i have noticed, it feels slightly bigger and more substantial than the 14060M i know they both have a 40mm case but is there any difference? also the bezel cover from the new watch was too big for the old one so there must be a slight difference.
I do prefer the clean finish of the no holes lugs, and another thing i dont know if it was a fault with the no date i had but i had nothing to compare so thought it was the norm but the brushed finish of the lugs on my new date sub is a nice smooth finish where on the no date there was like a rough machined finish, which is the norm? I am also happy now that i have a V serial so i know the watch is newer than the M serial i had on the no date, also the watch doesn't seem to rattle as much which i presume is down to the solid end links, also the braclet clasp feels a lot more solid than the no date version i had, well thats all for now when i get round to it i shall defo be posting some pics and i am going on holiday soon so want to take some underwater ones too which i don't think i have seen any on here of rolex's underwater. Thanks all for your opinions and advice it made good reading. Cheers Lee |

The Sub ND is gone from the Rolex Japan web page. Does this mean its going out of production? Mate if I were you, I'll get what makes me happy. But ND may become a cult thing if Basel does not display it this spring.
