Good luck, Ninja. I bought a new AP and kept for a week. Glad I traded it off now. Anyway, I know you will deal with this setback in Ninja fashion.

An update...
So I went to AP in NYC. The movement was not magnetized... there is something wrong with it. There was no improvement after getting demagnetized. We compared the movement (looking through the display case) with other AP’s in the store. The balance wheel was slow and sluggish then it stopped. So something is broken there. Not sure what we doing yet but I have to send the watch in. Hopefully we’ll get sorted quickly. Not too worried. The AD is really nice and helpful so should be fine. Just a process and time.... |

I had the same issue before with a new 44; APSC took care of it & attributed it to "prematurely dried oils". Service took a few weeks & the watch was returned in perfect working order.

Did they do anything for you for the inconvenience? Kind of ridiculous for something like that happen to a brand new watch |

If it’s AP ROO with 3126/3840 movement I have same problem after a week of when I buy my AP ROO rose gold 42mm. You must send it back and they need to change chrono module. It’s a problem that AP have it for years and not fixing I don’t know why? The problem is that chrono module it’s staying too much time and the oil looses his property. Problem is after I received the watch back from service the watch stop again and I need to send it back again. I was very upset and when watch come back I sell it. My watchmaker who work in Swiss on Ulysse Nardin manufactures and other manufacturers tell me this problem it’s hard to repair because they change the chrono module but if they put another new module with same problem then they not solved the problem. The chrono module must be open, cleaning, oiling and then put on the watch and surely the problem is solved. Please let us know how they solved your problem. |

Again, I had exactly the same issue, no big deal. AP dealt with it quickly and efficiently.
As for 'compensation' which was alluded to by someone in a prior post, really? At the very least AP will send the OP his watch back in a travel box that he could sell on ebay if he was minded to, but that's a cheap ass thing to do, as is selling any gifts from AP, but I know people do it again and again and again. OP, you've got a lovely watch, it'll be perfect when it comes back and AP will look after you. It won't take too long and then you can enjoy it again. p.s. You made one big mistake when you bought it, you told your wife how much it cost. Then you compounded that mistake by telling her that it broke. That means you now have to pay 'wife tax', good luck with that and I hope you budgeted for it. A rookie mistake! |

Could it be the mainspring, sounds like it’s not fully winding or storing more than a few minutes charge ?
Get it back to AP and they will have it returned in no time (I would guesstimate 2-3 weeks)

Yes, this exact thing happened to me when I first bought my elephant. It freaked me out tbh. It ran great for the first day or two then all of a sudden boom... exactly what you described. I went straight to the boutique and they fixed it. They told me it was an "oil issue" no clue why a brand new watch would have oil issues but that's what they said but it's now been a bit over a year and a half and she's been running smooth ever since

Yours is new...send to AP Clearwater..they will have back to you in a month I predict. And fix Under warranty. Annoying I’m sure, but they will make it right When you call, they will send you a shipping kit to send the watch in. All you have to do is dropp off at FedEx Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the exact same issue right now with my 41mm perpetual calendar. I hope it doesn't take too long for service.

I’m annoyed for you guys, but I don’t understand why you effectively shrug your shoulders and find it remotely acceptable when spending this sort of money. Essentially what Le Brassus is doing is treating customers with absolute disdain and foisting their corrective work on to the SCs, with an attitude of “ah, sure it’ll keep them busy”! |

My guess:
1. Dirty/dried oil and needs cleaned, 2. Cracked jewel, causes friction and will stop the movement. 3. Broken balance staff, unusual but possible. |

APSC is great.
My 5164a just got sent in after suddenly stopping, it happens. They will take care of it and get it back relatively quickly (6 weeks or so). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
