I like the smaller bezel and markers of the 41 but it is rather small, more like 39/40mm, so if you like a true 41/2mm feel then the 2 is best.

I much prefer the Datejust 41. I did not like the proportions of the Datejust II.

I don't agree with this. Lemme give reasons. 2008 to 2010 Rolex was bloating all watches from Sub to Explorer 2 and Datejust 2 is actually new model in addition to Datejust 36. The trend then was to make it bigger and more sportier and once that's been done the trend is going back to classic sizes now. Rolex played smartly this time by actually reducing DJ 2 size from 41 to 39 and then calling it Datejust 41.

Honestly Datejust II is very well done for 1st bigger datejust model and I feel they messed up Explorer 2 more but its not huge demand model to make changes quickly. Finally Rolex making for 7-8 years is not a mistake, it's change in trend.

My DJ II and prefer it over DJ41 which is too dressy for my taste!

X2. Fluted bezel on DJII looks better imo.

If you have the wrist for it, the DJ2 wears larger and has more presence. I owned a DJ2 for about a yea and really enjoyed it.

Personally, I think the datejust II... is by far... the most aesthetically unpleasing Rolex every made... In history. Somehow with the “slight adjustments” of the 41, they released one of the most attractive Rolex models available today. The 36 would always be my preference, but since it is too small for my wrists, I am on 41 bandwagon.

Jubilee, flutted, any color dial, looks classic, fits classic and has elegance and presence. A real beauty.

DJII... not so much.

I think the DJ41 is more photogenic, but in person the DJII looks perfectly fine. In a lot of ways I prefer it over my DJ41.

I liked the DJII a lot. Love the size. Love the bezel. But In the end the jubilee bracelet won. It shows no scratches. Looks new all the time and adds the perfect amount of bling. So both have their advantages. Just depends on what you like better. On my 7.5 inch wrist the DJII fits better. But I hate scratches and I know all watches get them but the jubilee is magic on the wrist. So for now that’s my choice. Settling for the DJ41 lol

Hi all - am about to pull the trigger on a DJ2 - my dad has the 41 and it is just too dainty for me. I know both have the same lug width, but can anyone tell me if both bracelets taper to the same width at the clasp?

I have a soft spot in my heart for DJ2s and DD2s. Their proportions are the subject of much criticism here, but they have really unique dials and bezels.

218206 glacier blue with Arabic numerals is my grail.

While the case is slimmed down some on the dj41, you will notice the bottom of the case is more flat than the DJII which I have in the pictue below and for some, that makes it fit the wrist better, maybe more snug or streamlined. I like the slightly bulky DJII as it feels substantial on the wrist and purchased one a few months ago, a TT with Ivory diamond dial picture below.

My thoughts since I had the datejust II and traded it for the datejust 41 is this…everything is personal preference however I think that the 41 is way better in proportions. When the II came out going from the 36mm it was a game changer for me. A bigger version for todays man. However there was something missing that it didn’t feel like it was a bigger 36….but when the 41 came out IMO Rolex made a bigger watch that has that classy DJ look and I absolutely love it. The dial seems bigger with the smaller bezel and I just love my Champaign dial TT 41
