I would get a PP since you don't have one yet. 5167 is fabulous, but 5164 is ideal IMHO.

Either way, you are winning!

I’ve had my Gen 2 VC Chrono for 4 years and there is not a single mark of any sort on the bracelet.

I would add 5167R, I am considering adding that myself to my collection as well

Also heard that VC overseas bracelet isn’t a scratch magnet anymore than any other SS watch. Would say the bezel on a 15202 or even a 5711 is more prone to scratches.

3. Really can't stop looking at the exclusive 5167a Red. Doesn't seem like that will be a possibility for me as it's super limited (500 pieces). I could however get the classic 5167a and add a Khaki strap. I have yet to own a Patek. Love the 5711 but refuse to overpay 3x.

For reference, a pic of my current state of collection.
I agree with you on not paying x3 on the 5711. Just insane for that. I’m getting a SS Blue Skydweller at MSRP. Way better deal and added functionality traveling. Good luck!

SkyD blue at retail is a miracle in itself.

Only been the wrist 3 weeks straight but it sure doesnt seem like a scratch magnet. A friend also has a chrono version and agrees. No worries.

The 5167 is a less-is-best type of watch. It is simple, thin and good looking. There is a reason why this watch is so popular.

Does the bracelet get smaller at all closer to clasp like Rolex? Or is it same width throughout?

Classic. My only concern is that I’d still have the 5711 in mind.

Yes. Once you have the 5711 in mind, it will always be there. If you really want it, tell your AD and wait for it. With your Rolex purchase history, you may get one?

I purchased most from Davidsw. Have a relationship with an AD now but he doesn't carry PP.

My vote is for the VC the third gen blue is absolutely stunning and with the strap change system it's a total game changer.

Lot of people saying this is the next piece to take off. Don't know if I'm a believer.

Right now the wait lists for the blue plain dial is 4 months and the dual time is about 8 months. As far as taking off i cant predict the future but the overseas are definitely getting hot and harder to come by. I will be purchasing the blue plain dial regardless of it taking off or not though as this brand has always held a special place in my heart.

It just frustrates me how bad their marketing is or the lack thereof. If there are waitlists even being such a under the radar brand just imagine what happens once we have rappers educated enough to rhyme vacheron constantin with something

Rick Ross mentioned VC in his raps a while ago.

Also, I think the waitlist is 1 month for the blue 4500v. I was told this last wk.

YMMV for waitlists. I'm in NYC so I will typically deal with longer waitlists than most other areas. Neither the VC boutique or large ADs had them here and the shortest time I was quoted was 4 months. Also remember VC only produces 20k pieces a year compared to PP who produces 60k+. Its going to be very easy to bottleneck the supply than most other brands if scalpers and flippers decide to pick it up.

Check out the VC in a few weeks and see what it does for you. For it to qualify as the first "oddball," I'd make sure I was in love. Otherwise, the sub post Basel seems like a no-brainer and it keeps you rocking the Rolex pairs theme. Congrats to your Pops!

Someone above mentioned the VC Overseas bracelet is very prone to scratches. I have an Overseas Gen 2 47040 and that has not been my experience. After almost 4 years and wearing it once a week plus occasionally skiing with it apparent scratches are minimal. Even the polished case sides still look great. This is a legit sports watch. I’d get another with a different dial color in a minute.
