If it helps have a look at my OP39 thread!
Started off wanting the OP but ended up getting the E1. The thread details why....

I would definitely do that trade. However, you do have the prettiest version of the OP39 IMO.

What about a smaller OP 36 or 34 of the white dial?

That was a concern. Go down in size or look to trade for an MK2. I’m leaning towards that after seeing the 114270 this morning

Both are classy, I would trade if I like the Explorer and the OP has done its time.
Good luck |

The size is certainly one thing. The age of the piece means you're getting a much older watch which will likely need to be serviced soon if it has not already. You're also looking at an older movement and hollow bracelet and not a fully lumed dial.

However, if you don't like this watch / like the other better...trade away. |

The Explorer is massively overpriced in my opinion. What exactly is the several thousand dollar premium over an OP going towards? A complication? Nope. Oh wait, it has a precocious metal bezel! Oh nope...
a superior movement? Hmm, nope. It has a “sports model” clasp! Yup I guess that’s worth it! |

Get the one you like more if you aren't fond of the OP39 and don't want to add. Pretty much the same watch anyway. But one black and one white imo would be more complimentary and a great pair.

That is a super looking OP, I like my
Exp. MK2 but I really think your white dial OP is very nice. |

While I like your OP, I’d make the swap. The Explorer is just so versatile...

I like your white dial OP...it's a sharp looking watch. Truthfully it looks like a Polar Explorer:)
Would suggest you get an Explorer to add to your collection vs trading for it. |

I had the Explorer first and I love it but the black OP is just beautiful and the simplicity of the dial is what did it for me. Now I have both.

Both are great and super versatile. Essentially they are the same watch with very minor differences. The original Explorer is a derivative of the OP. Hard choice, both watches are great. I have Explorer 39mk2 and I was thinking to get the 39 OP white dial but decided against it, but who knows, maybe someday...

I think this is fair advice, as the 116000 OP 36mm is available with a “3-6-9” dial similar to the 14270/114270, but only in blue. The white dial 116000 is sharp, but unfortunately has doubled up baton indices at 3-6-9.
FWIW, the 114300 and 214270 share the same case. |

[QUOTE=904VT;10300764]What are you talking about several thousand dollar price difference? It’s $800 roughly USD. I know you guys in Canada have been getting cheap Rolex for years now with the weak currency translations and low MSRPs. It’s $800 or so more for a safety lock clasp which is required for exploring imo and improved lume function. Pretty reasonable in the watch world imo[/QUOT
Here it’s 1200 difference so yeah I was a little off. I sincerely apologize sir. I’ll take weak currency over all your country’s issues. Anyways too many rude ppl here. Rolex forum is the absolute worst environment. I will not be back, ban me please mods. Oh and I forgot fuck you |
