Coincidentally, I've just swapped the silver dial on my DJ41 for the blue. Cost for the dial at Rolex Service was around US$400 - and they keep the old one.
Had the silver for about 8 years, so figured a change was due. Chose blue because I have many black dial watches. |

Did you buy it because that was what was available?
Black - is always boring. Soz for those black dial watch lovers - but it's true. |

I went into an AD to enquire about blue dial and was told waiting list timepiece but they had a white I could have now, tried it on and didn't feel that connection. Decided to wait for the blue which proved to be the right decision. Soon as it was on my wrist it felt right.

It would appear that you have owned the watch for less than a month? Impulse buying then selling of any piece of jewelry, is a recipe for substantial loss of $$. Wear your watch for a year, then decide. Personally, I'd much rather have the black dial, as truly is the perfect watch.

I would go in and talk to the AD and see what my options are. If a dial swap is possible, then ok. If a trade in is possible without a huge loss, ok. I would also contact several of the Trusted Sellers here on TRF and see what they would do on a trade. I would take all of that information and make a decision. I don't own watches I don't want, so I would make it work even if it cost me some money. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I'm on the "let this sit for a while" side...do you know the answer to the question "how long will I keep this watch?". For me that was a consideration in dial colour.

Sorry to say, it’s over lol
Figure out the most cost effective way to move on and proceed. Once the doubt starts creeping in there is no coming back...may take years but at some point what you ‘could’ do with those funds will outweigh what you ‘did’ do with those funds |

Blue for sure. Five years with this baby and never gotten tired of it. Just a more beautiful and "interesting" color than black. I have enough black sports watches. If you heart says blue, just accept it and make the flip.

Keep the blue, it's fantastic. Buy a black dial watch to go with it, may I suggest a submariner? :D

I like the blue over the black but don't listen to me or anybody else on the thread as well intended as we all are it's you that has to live with the watch.
Go to your AD when he/she has a blue dial DJ to see. Go put it on your wrist next to your black dial. Walk around the store with it, think about which goes better with clothes in your closet. You'll come to the right decision pretty quickly. Then if its blue, do a dial swap or a trade. There's no reason not to be completely in love with your watch. Keeping the black makes no sense if it squawks while the blue dial sings to you. |

If you’ve seen the blue dial in person and know that’s what you really want, send it to RSC and switch it out.

I'd prefer the black dial personally so if I was you'd keep what I have. Have a think about it for awhile and if you decided to do so you can always swap the dial with a blue one. No rush.

Is this an everyday watch? Is this your only watch? Black can go anywhere. Blue dresses it down some.
Give it a chance. |

There is a reason you bought what you did. Live with it a few weeks or months and don't worry about it. I have both blue and black and both are very nice ....can't go wrong with either. If you decide you want blue why not keep the black and get a second OP39 in blue so you have something different to have some fun with. All of thee are money in the bank......can't lose on them. They will hold their value so get another one in blue and enjoy both!
