I'm glad parasite won. Ever since I watched it, I was rooting for it to win best foreign film. I was pleasantly surprised it won best film too.

There's a scene of this pizzaboxer in "Parasite". I've heard that she's become a sort of a celebrity in her own right:

PARASITE, baby! About time that a foreign language film won Best Picture. Fave moment was when director Bong Joon Ho pays respect to two titans of American cinema, Scorcese and Tarantino. Classy move.

Not sure what you’re trying to say here. Because the Best Picture was a Korean film? That’s why it was “ woke”?
Parasite was considered to the best film Period amongst many people who watch films for a living and have to put pen to paper and actually think about why a movie is good. Also, it was considered to be the best picture amongst many cinephiles, not your everyday typical filmgoer. You mentioned 1917. An above average movie IMO but not nearly as good or original as Parasite. https://www.metacritic.com/feature/c...movies-of-2019 https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/parasite_2019 |
