I thought the same at first until i bought mine, it does balance with the date window, i cant imagine it without now. It's definitely one more thing that gives it it's own unique style. Try it, you'll like it.
Marker at nine or The Thing.

I’m pleased you like it.

But it’s not for me, I don’t agree that it balances with the date window, it just looks weird. I won’t be trying it.

I’ve just purchased a DJ 41 with MOP and diamond dial, not everyone’s taste, but I love it.

We are all different.

What bothers me and has me.on the fence is

The dial seems hard to read, dark gloomy, unlike the other dials, dont get me wrong, i think the green is gorgeous but for older eyes not so

My 116710BLNR, 116610LV and 114060 all have the same marker, don’t think they have any connection to Tennis courts, Wimbledon or Roger Federer.

Your right those have no connection at all.... however rolexes Marketing machine pushes the narrative this particular dial reflecting the different aspects of the Wimbledon tennis court on the unofficially named “Federer” dial

Steve,

I fully agree with the connection to Wimbledon.

What I disagree with, was that you stated that the marker at 9 on the Wimbledon dial represents a tennis court line.

But lets just agree to differ, and have a great weekend, whatever watch you are wearing.

you see the post from their instagram where rolex clearly lays the watch over the tennis line with the marker and date, it absolutely does, I just cant find the post where they mention it. Everything rolex does is on purpose, they don't leave stuff like this to chance! All good man
