For size reference, take a look at Suzy Amis' watch. She told me she and Jim both daily wear the JC Deepsea. She has delicate wrists (but is like 5'11") and she let me try it on. Went on to tell me that it was Jim's, that they often get them mixed up. Anyway, it fit her, and is my next purchase, (on list with local AD). Unless, of course, Daytona (sure :0 ).
I plan to wear it more than my regular sub, and a couple of others that are in the rotation. Can't wait! |

I was offered a DSDB a few weeks ago and was told if I passed on it there should be another available in May. I didn't pass and haven't taken it off since. It's spectacular! My GMT and Sub are gathering dust!

Demand is stronger than before? I guess that’s excellent news for the 800 Daytona’s on Chrono and all the 100s of BLROs and BLNRs too. They should get bought up quickly. Heck, maybe the grays can stop bumping the same hulk at 14k 100 times too or pulling it and re listing. Shew thank god the demand is back, the grays can now go back to asking 20k for a Pepsi Yeah, okay |

I am a 5'8" woman with a 6.75" wrist and I almost bought one because it is that stunning. Thankfully I came to my senses because I would have looked ridiculous, but it really is gorgeous.

There are none here in Canada - I’ve never seen one in the wild.

) Why would availability play a part in the decision ? ) Is it a watch you truly desire ?

Generally you need big wrists to pull this watch off. I have seen plenty of pictures on TRF of people with 6" wrists wearing this watch and it looks ridiculous. If you are >7" wrists you should be ok but again make sure you like it on YOU before handing over your money |

The DSSD JC is a great watch and has a beautiful dial. If you like a larger watch, it will be right at home on your wrist. For larger watches, I have found that the sizing of the bracelet is everything and once done properly it makes all the difference.

I like the watch very much. The reason I asked the question regarding availability is because I wanted to make an informed decision regarding how best to use some of the funds that I have at the moment.
If this watch is easy to get, then I will not buy it now and use the money for other things. If the watch is difficult to get, then I will use the money to buy the watch now. |

I have both references 116660 and 126660 , I frequently wear my 116660.
I m a big guy - 6,3 - 225 .....haven’t got huge wrists at 7 inches but it wears nicely on me. I m loving my 43mm SD 50th currently as a nice compromise. Perhaps look into one of those, they are getting more and more love these days it seems . |

I think it will be difficult for anyone here to be very specific about a wait time for this piece. It depends a lot on the AD.
In the UK if you were to ask a larger independent AD they should be able to get this for you in a few months, depending on if they already had people waiting of course. If you asked in a WOS/Goldsmiths branch and you had no significant purchase history with them then they'd politely take your details and put you on their list and you might wait literally years - just the way they do business. This isnt usually a window display item like an Oyster Perpetual or (two tone)Datejust. An AD might have one tucked away in the safe, they might not. They might have 1-2 people waiting for one and only get 2-3 per year. Grey market prices vs MRSP are a good indicator of availability and demand - why would someone pay above MSRP for a grey watch if it was readily available at an AD? JC DSSD does sell above MSRP. Not double MSRP like some but those watches can take many years to get from an AD. Rolex buyers do like to know where they stand I think. A long track record of adulation for a classic Rolex design makes for a no-brainer and also a very long wait list. The DSSD doesnt quite tick all the boxes to make it a massive demand piece, in particular the thickness seems to offend some. In every other respect though it really is a design classic. The quality and engineering are second to none and in some respects make some of the 40mm 'classics' look a bit fussy and effeminate by modern standards (my opinion of course, not mentioning names. 'cept Daytona). I would say if you love it then buy it. If you like it you can always wait and see, and if things dont work out then what the hell you weren't that bothered about it anyway. |

I waited almost 4 months before I got the call. The 126660 is a great looking watch, and gets the most wrist time since being purchased. You'll love it.

You are lucky the Rolex AD still open in your area. Most of the ADs in Ontario already closed until further notice.

Looking forward to seeing pics. I own this Deepsea, and it’s awesome. Not for everyone, but also not as “overwhelming” on the wrist as many might initially feel given it’s stated dimensions and weight.
Also not easy to get, but not impossible. Times may be changing - at least temporarily - but this has historically not been in the case and generally limited in availability with some wait to be expected (if purchasing from an AD). |
