For a little more explanation: The watch hype trends are cyclical and ever changing as many current “hot” models today like the LVc (Hulk) or even Daytona were never desirable for a lot of their life when initially introduced. Dial colors also rotates in which will demand more money but even that is cyclical. Great reply. Thanks.

The BLNR is better just go for that especially the original on the oyster. It’s also cheaper so even better.

It is a great question to which no one seems to have a perfect answer. I guess a long history is the best so far. I however had a choice between the two, I am a pilot and use it daily not taking into account future value I choose the BLNR. To me as a tool watch blue for day and black for night makes sense. The Pepsi I had the option to purchase seemed to have a pink and purple tint. They are both great watches and because I plan to keep mine until I pass it on to my son I chose what I liked better not what others say is better.

The pepsi has the heritage and vintage nostalgia so will always be more popular.
The batman is a great watch but in oyster form it was always more popular then Jubilee.

The original GMT designed for Pan Am pilots around 1954 had a red/ blue bezel. It’s history

When I bought a BLNR in 2016, I got it at a discount ... times have certainly changed.

Onto today, I’d say the BLRO is simply in more demand hence the higher price. It’s usually not much more complicated than that.

I see many false info. The production number is lower, almost double more batgirl the ad I talked to. In the USA ad knows how many Pepsi or batgirl they will be allocated. Try to find one in which they have same allocation. Personally I like batgirl but I like harder to get watches.

The old days will be back before you know it. Both will be had at MSRP within 6 months if we slip into hard recession, which is very possible at this point. Call me stupid but no one is blowing 10K plus on a fashion bauble right now. That will have a cascading effect.

So I own both 126710BLNR and 126710BLRO, as time passed by i have noticed how much the Batmans have dropped and pepsis are keeping more up value. Is their a reason why this is happening? is Batmans more saturated? I know they only produce x amount of each watch a year prior to being same numbers. I have heard a lot of ADs get more Batmans.

What do you guys think?

Thank you and looking forward to hearing it all from you guys!

I chose the BLNR. Simply not a fan of the pink/purple hues of the pepsi. I think it looks amazing in low light (deep red/dark blue) and abysmal in direct sunlight (pinkish red and purple). Just my opinion of course. Both have their merits but black and blue sang to me

The only 'lower' production number here is the BLRO ceramic bezel.
Case, bracelet, movement are virtually identical with the LN and BLNR.

As someone already said, Rolex is really the marketing master in creating this illusion of exclusivity.

Hi! Why do Pepsis have so much more value than Batmans now?

My guess is the BLNR will eventually be discontinued and long term the BLRO will live on. Who knows what that does to value. Perhaps BLRO will probably always be worth more due to the history.

I had the dilemma of choosing between these two and chose the BLNR on oyster. I simply love the colors more on the BLNR (blue for day and black for night makes more sense to me) and I personally don’t like the Jubilee bracelet.

Who wants a watch associated with a childish comic book character. Hard pass for me.

Also the BLNR is better because you can get a Pepsi on a Tudor but can’t get a Tudor BLNR.

Hype and fashion is driving the demand, lower production of the BLRO vs BLNR is driving the secondary market price. When the BLRO is no longer the latest and greatest it will drop back to parity with the BLNR.
