Not at all. I just don't think it will change back this fast.

I definitely think it will take some months, but I think you’d be a near fool to pay over MSRP for a SS model right at this minute. Just like it will take some months for the true face of the economy to show when all the real unemployment/profit numbers come to surface. People aren’t going to start flipping their watches at a loss in the next few weeks (although many models have already dropped in value), but will start selling to pay for other aspects of life when they realize business has been down (or even lost) for months at a time and looking quite dreary.

Honestly I suggested the above, as a way to always feel goodand never have buyer’s remorse. That’s why I stated ‘no matter what the market is’. If I pay MSRP for a GMT I don’t care if it increases a few thousand or goes down a few thousand, all part of the game. If I threw $24k on a white Daytona and saw it worth 15k a year later though.....that’s a bit of a punch to the gut. That’s an entire Sub.

Anyhow, all my opinion of course. $9k is a lot of money to me though, it’s merely a week’s salary to some.

I feel this way... Plus, at least in the short term before the name card change, I like to have my name on the card!

If I wanted the watch 126600, and was offered MSRP at the AD, I think this is a purchase I would make.

Discount? Off MRSP? SD43?
Err......NO.

This is as good as it gets

(SD43 more sought after than DSSD black)

Prices don't go down my friend. Particularly those models. MSRP is the lowest you're going to ever see. Pre-owned is probably going to stay at much higher than NEW MSRP for a while. A long while, if ever. Get it now and get while you can.

You could probably get a slight discount off MSRP. With the number of unemployed Americans due to this pandemic. Authorized dealers would love to move any piece they can.. Try to negotiate, you’ll be surprised. Good luck OP.

I’d be staggered if any AD offered discount on an SD43... availability should be still kept below demand to ensure this doesn’t happen

Lifes too short....i think msrp is as good as its going to get...factor in a few price rises as the years roll on and id say nows a good time.

If you realy like and want the watch then MSRP is a good price, if you are into investments and like the idea of a discount then you should look at the stock market.

If the SD43 is a watch you always wanted, go for it bc you are not going to get an opportunity to buy it at discount.

it boils down to how bad you want it or how bad you dont want it. Before all of this, some folks were willing to pay exorbitant amounts for a ceramic daytona or a batman or pepsi. But now as the price drops, some folks are not willing to try and catch a falling knife.

I have been buying Rolex sports watches for the last twenty years and am trying to think if there have been any occasions when holding off buying one at MSRP has worked in my favour.................I am still thinking.............give me time.............

If you really like it then go for it, but if you are just buying for the sake of it then do yourself a favour and give it a miss. There will always be another watch, it just might cost you a little more.

You’re not going to get that piece on a discount anytime soon. That’s wishful thinking. MSRP from an AD is as good as it gets. As long as you can afford it now and you really want it I’d jump on it

Is it about the money or the watch? When purchasing, I know that you have to touch both but many times it is too much about the cost. MSRP is more than fair for a hot watch and the SD43 is a great watch. The Rolex factory is closed and I can only imagine the silliness that is going to happen once we start to move beyond this current crisis and availability will continue to be difficult. If you want the watch and can afford it, buy it. If not, then don't. That simple.

If it's a watch you've been wanting, MSRP is still a very fair price to pay.

Don't try to "time" the market. If you plan to enjoy the watch for the next several years, you will not lose value and may gain if you wish to trade it.

Buying a stainless steel sports Rolex at MRP would have been considered unimaginable a few months ago. Now your are questioning if it is a good deal? Apply some perspective. Buy and enjoy if it is a watch you truly want to wear.

Quality remains after the price is long forgotten (stolen from Sam Clemens, I think). I'd get it now and enjoy it while we're all on lockdown.

If you are in a position to buy, I'd buy at MSRP. IMO, we will only see discounts materializing if the economic downturn goes on for many months. All the stimulus being pumped into the economy in the US and abroad has the potential for a quick turnaround.

MSRP is the lowest price you'll get for the SD43 unless you buy it from a desperate owner directly.

I'd pay retail and get it on you, it could be in a few weeks some are selling for a discount tho maybe not from ADs, or that world leaders decide this CV crisis is overblown and the net risk to the economy is too great and so the tide turns on the negativity. Remember prices move in anticipation of events.

MRSP should be fine.

However.

A lot of posters seem to have completely forgotten that Rolex ss watches could often be bought with a 5-10% discount pre 2017.

Also, last week, 3.28 million Americans filed for unemployment benefits. It will be just as bad around the rest of the world. Why on earth should luxury wrist watches keep their value during the coming depression.

3 million people losing their job and the market is on the up and up? It takes only half a brain to see how fake this is, things are going to end up very bad when this all plays out. Can’t keep pumping forever.

Had the same experience yesterday with well known AD. 126600 at MSRP. This is just the beginning.
