Neither is a bad choice; there are a lot of subs out there and not as common is the CHNR. I'm sure you'll enjoy both when you get them. Congratulations!!!

You made the right call. Your comment about wrist time for the CHNR is very telling. I feel the same way. CHNR is a beautiful piece but I can’t picture myself ever really wearing it. For that reason, I think you made the right call getting the sub. Enjoy!

Seeing that you already have a hulk, I would request at 114060.

I have both. Since you already have the Hulk, I’d go with the CHNR. It’s far more versatile than you’d think.

I'd say go with the CHNR, but I'm wearing the sub date and it's my favorite daily driver, so if you don't have one and it'll be very hard to come by where you are, then perhaps get it if that's what your heart wants.

imho CHNR first, then a Sub no date as the ND dial is so perfectly balanced imho. :)

Another sub vote. Just a no fuss easy wearing handsome watch. The gold PCLs can be scratched by restaurant napkins. I have enough to worry about with 3 boys.

The Submariner, either date or no date, is seldom the wrong choice and you'll likely remain happy with this as part of your collection. Its place in the collection of a serious watch collector, whether Rolex or non brand-specific, seems almost foundational. When viewed "live" the CHNR is nearly breathtaking and that GMT will be there when you're ready.
Congratulation on its acquisition. --Colt |

Interesting topic as I was offered both today at my local AD. Got the call this morning that a Sub with date became available as another client backed out. Got to the AD and he had the CHNR as well. It was difficult choice but realize I’m very fortunate to have the ability to purchase during these crazy times. After much thought and back and forth I went with the Sub... the difference in cost I’ll throw at the stock market.

Given the sub is half the price of the CHNR, it is not a fair comparison. I already own the CHNR and am longing for the Sub but at double the price you get what you pay for in this case. Any good collection should have both, so you can get one at a later point in time and I do not think that are that hard to get. I am currently on the waiting list for the Batman and it is taking much longer than the CHNR. Good luck!

Congratulations. You can not go wrong with the Submariner in any form. The Submariner is a classic watch and is a cornerstone of any serious Rolex collection. I like TT watches in the abstract and enjoy the pictures but after owning most of them over the years I have a hard time with the money involved for what you get. SS Submariner, a Rock, PM Submariner, wow! But TT rides right in the middle, I know that is the point, but for me I either want the simplicity and durability of SS or the wow of all PM. Personal choice I know but TT always makes me think I am only half way there. Enjoy your Submariner and good luck on you hunt for the Batman.

For the people who think of older, or other TT references I want to say that the CHNR is totally different in look than any TT Rolex. I can't explain it, but it's the way it is. The mix of the Black, and Brown bezel with the SS, and Rolex Rose is special.

I have both and would have gone with the CHNR. It will get harder to get, or discontinued in it's current form so grab it quick!
