What I find somewhat troubling is that HQ never addressed this topic when it boiled over a few months ago (and after they sold MANY Blueberries), and doesn't seem interested in dealing with it now. If anything, ignoring this, espically as a dealer, can only harm their integrity.[/QUOTE]

My point exactly.. the fact they ignore the topic is almost a sign of gilt? the one for sale at present has a very "smick" bracelet as well for a t 45 year old watch.

And the insert doesn’t align with the bezel on the 2 pictures so it was removed at some point...and bleached...
If there is one thing I learnt from this whole thing, although I never cared about the blueberry insert itself (but I wouldn’t even buy one if it was offered for the price of a brand new service one now!) is that I now consider the « trusted seller » concept as extremely doubtful.
Don’t trust the seller, trust the watch only and every bit of info you can gather. We’re lucky there are places like here or vrf where knowledgeable collectors graciously share their insight! Thanks a lot!

AFAIK the general consensus is that there never was a GMT initially sold by Rolex with a blueberry insert mounted.

Here are the 2 on Chrono24

https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/gmt-m...id14087069.htm

3005xxx $36.949 seller in Italy movement 1570

https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/1675-...id14550512.htm

421xxxx $45,900 "Reserved" seller in Boston movement 1575

https://www.hqmilton.com/timepieces/...lueberry-A3380

32xxxxx $45,350 seller HQ movement 1570

I did this for a record of what's for sale today and to see if they show up again.

After reading this thread, it's hard to believe with all the knowledge on this forum that these can't be authenticated. Which tells me people are getting a 20k-30k premium for something that's NOT authentic. I guess it really is buyer beware, I'm sure this kind of behavior go's on at a smaller level. Sure hope I don't come across it.

Chris

Most people that have them today have paid dearly for them. As long as no one can say for sure they will try to get their money back. I am sure most people would do the same. .

Some people believe their authentic, some dont. Maybe HQ believe they're real. Why the harsh comments

No harsh comments here, just hate to see people being taken advantage of. If seller's won't or can't verify it's authenticity then it should be disclosed.

But like roh123 said if they bought it maybe their just trying to get their money back.

Best Chris

I do agree with you, regarding the 'people taken advantage of'.... but some of the comments here sound like their selling fake items. Its just an insert with a "question mark on it" IMO. I am not associated with them at all and dont own a blueberry. All I am saying is, they could be on the side that believe they're authentic and selling it as any other item.

my 2 cents.

I would never accuse HQ as selling fakes, and never have. I have bought from and sold to them many times and have always had easy and above the board transactions.

All I'm saying is that they never addressed this issue when it exploded last year (if you haven't read the lengthy discussions on this, and other forums, you should), and now that they're selling GMTs w blueberry inserts again, there's still no mention of verification or authenticity.

And, while I agree that to the onlooker they're "just an insert", these happen to have...besides a "question mark on it"....a massive FIVE-FIGURE price-point. That's an awful lot of money for something that can't, nor has been, verified. So, if they think they're selling an authentic item, it would behoove them to state WHY it's authentic.

cheers

Send HQ an email about their blueberry for sale and ask them if it is genuine- and if they say it is genuine, what makes it genuine. That should satisfy your curiosity and you can report your findings back here to all the inquiring minds that need to know.

Or just let people decide on their own. The inserts aren’t more questionable today than they were 5-10 years ago.

No one knows and sellers that demand a premium will never say they think they are wrong. The whole discussion is stupid and no one discussing them would ever buy one. Creating a mob on the internet will not prove anything. The inserts are around and no one will throw them away or sell them cheap. It is what it is.
