Do you mean F5?

I got a very nice pointed 4 from 2010, was one of the last made and I like the fact that is in mint condition (not polished, not stress on the bracelet), I got it for $13000. I have been all over the Sub and SD line, I love the 5digit case with the maxi dial and the uniqueness of the 16610LV as a model. I have a Daytona ceramic black dial and a Bluesy ceramic that are and look brand new, I mostly wear the Kermit, it is a used watch that I enjoy more without worrying too much

Silly question...... how much of hype vs true collectibility is the flat 4 vs pointed 4 discussion?

I’m looking to get a kermit, should I splurge for the extra $10k for a y/early f serial or go with the best condition pointed 4?

I would go with any NOS or near NOS piece you can find full set first, then flat 4 or minty pointed 4

I have purchased 2 Z serial with box and papers in the last 2 months (hang tags and all). One for $13,900 the other for $13,250. People have been calling the top on Kermits for years yet they just keep going.

It is collectible and notably pricier.
Flat part is uppermost point inside the 4, all of them have a flat top

If you want one and have the funds, buy it now.

As you can see from recent auctions, even the worst economic situation since the great depression is a Non Factor in trends

Yes, you are correct and that was a typo I made. It should have read F5 not Y5.

I would agree - and I haven't seen any evidence at all that nice, clean 16610LVs are getting soft in price.

In case you missed it, here is a complete F0xxxxx serial number 'flat 4" anniversary 16610LV set, unpolished and in top condition that just sold with the 50th Anniversary Press Kit for $25,000.

I just pulled the trigger on an almost full set, only missing the booklets, Z serial one just this past weekend. It cost me my full set K serial ref 14060m plus £6k. Now I'll have to endure burgers instead of steaks for a couple of years.
