The Pelagos should be slightly slimmer. It would be perfect.

Agreed, 1-2mm thinner would be perfect. I do love this watch though!

Pelagos, most Black Bay (especially GMT / Chrono), except 58 which is Tudor first step in right direction.

I'd like to hear from a saturation diver who uses Trimix - or any other normoxic gas blend and goes into a recompression chamber so often they need a Helium escape valve on their Rolex. ( Helium molecules are about 4 x smaller than air or nitrogen if I remember correctly ? )

I really think this is marketing folly.

I've performed several hundred dives in Puget Sound, and I dont know any diver here that uses a dive watch. If you lose one pin - just one - that watch is gone. Diving is notorious for being hard on gear.

I like them, and I am happy that so many models are available - they have a great aesthetic, but scuba divers are using a dive computer (air integrated ) of some kind.

Not a watch.

All that said - I totally think the Pelagos is a fantastic 'dive watch'. Tudor has nailed it.

I would totally welcome a pelagos in the same size as the Tudor 58. Would be awesome imo.

I wish Tudor’s tool watches were a bit smaller and thinner across the board. I doubt we’ll see case sizes reduced to the 40mm mark, as that’s encroaching on big brother Rolex’s territory, but the hockey puck case of Tudor’s GMT is completely unrefined to me - as is the chunky Pelagos. And to someone else’s point earlier in the thread, the added size isn’t a necessary function of their being a tool watch - there’s plenty of space in the case, and their vintage predecessors with similar functions and depth ratings often came in under 40mm. Further, the “tool watch” defense doesn’t hold water when tool watches like the Black Bay Fifty-Eight can’t serve their intended purpose, since the bracelet lacks a dive clasp (pretty much the only negative thing I have to say about that watch - I absolutely love it).

I hope we see more watches following in the footsteps of the Black Bay Fifty-Eight’s 39mm size, clearly inspired by vintage Tudor (and Rolex) models. It was a huge improvement in form factor for me compared to other renditions of the Black Bay.

I'd be all over the blue Pelagos if it were thinner and 38-40mm instead. I think it's a really underrated watch that unfortunately only fits people with larger wrists.

40mm Pelagos and a couple mm thinner would be a winner

Count me in on a 38-40mm pelagos.

I love the watch and aesthetics, but it is currently too big for me and I would never buy the current 42mm.

Come on Tudor, make one for the rest of us :-)

I find the current obsession with smaller and thinner watches interesting. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a clock on my wrist, but 42-43 mm and extra thickness doesn't bother me. For reference, I started with a sub, and then went to a BB ETA and then a 42 mm PO 8500. Yes the BB and PO are thicker, but it doesn't bother me at all, and it's not like I have gargantuan wrists.

Just wondering if people are overcorrecting from an era where everyone wore a giant watch. There are some members on TRF who get downright apoplectic at the idea that anyone would want a watch that's over 40mm and thicker than a sheet of paper. I mean, a big, technical diver is what it is for a reason.

Nope - it's a 500m dive watch and the proportions are entirely appropriate. It's also light, being mostly titanium with a few steel components.

I've thought this for a while. Slightly thinner case & 39 - 40mm case size would absolutely nail it.

I'd happily part with my cash for that!!!!

Nope...the watch is perfect as is.

But then again, I don't sit around obsessing over millimeters, either. I just strap on the watch of the day and enjoy it. I know, pretty radical stuff for the forums these days, huh?

I actually agree 39.5-40.5 would be stellar, id have to own one...especially if they did something cool and heritage ish. Love the LHD but with there was a RHD with the same dial too haha.

Only problem for me is that the watch wears huge! Anyone else wishing for a black bay 58 treatment for the pelagos? Maybe 39mm, 11mm thick and 48 lug to lug? Anything like this on the horizon?
I would love this. I sold my Pelagos because it was too thick.

I have the two line ETA Pelagos in black and feel it is nearly perfect. I barely have a 7" wrist and feel the size is great...would it bother me if it were a few mm smaller? probably not but I like a little chunk for casual wear. I have my eye on an SD4K so I may need to swap it for the blue.

I’d like to see a trim down across all Tudor watches.

As the diver, maybe it will stay at 42mm but thinned down and tapered on the lugs?

Fantastic watches. Think they just came in at the time when watches were getting bigger

I wish it was a little bit thinner, I wish it was smaller, I wish I had a girl that looked good I would call her.

Ha - same thing happened to me by tuning into a few of these threads on Pelagos and in particular the LHD. Good luck.

My first reaction is how this would be similar to saying “I really like the Deepsea but wish it was say 42mm instead of 44”. To me, it just wouldn’t be the same watch, and Tudor and/or its designers are probably cognizant of how the Pelagos’ size and stature relate to the overall esthetic of the watch.

But I also understand how someone might feel like they really want the lightness of the titanium, the quality of Tudor, the functionality and readability of the Pelagos, but in something more appropriate for their wrist size.

Regardless - great watch, I love wearing it at its current size.

Definitely. 5 digit Subs were waterproof and technical enough for me.

I would love a 39mm Pelagos. For die hards, there’s the Sea Dweller, & the Propof.
