The original came from the color of the bezel. The new one came from the bracelet which some people thought makes the new reference BLNR more feminine and more beautiful. They started to use the nickname Batgirl for the new reference. So what, it's a Beautiful reference, and clever nickname. Both Batman and Batgirl wear similar colored suit, don't they. You think it's unnecessary for some reason, others think it's a clever nickname to easily differentiate the new BLNR from the discontinued BLNR.

Nice attempt at sarcasm (no, not really) - the whole world is living with it dude, so maybe cut the 'victim'/'martyr' stuff. We are all suffering.

But yeah, you guys crack on arguing about about a nickname for an expensive watch. Jeez!

And here I was going to say something nice about Paris, the last place my wife and I visited before all this. I'm not playing the victim, but that's funny. You ask a question of our awareness level and when someone answers, you criticize. Ok, that's your deal. No problem. Bonne chance mon ami

The bracelet has no bearing for the nickname. The Pepsi has both bracelets with no way to differentiate between them. What makes the Batman so special? When did this protocol change? And if it has, what are the new names for the 3 Pepsi? All I am asking for is consistency here.

I do not deiced if a nickname is stupid the masses do and they have voted as well as discussed this ad nauseam! Simply do a search for batgirl and you can learn all about the past discussions here that have taken place for may years.

Also, I invite you to VOTE on this poll and many others here as well. https://www.rolexforums.com/showthre...et+Vs.+batgirl

This is why. If I chance the bracelet on another watch with the same bezel it does it change the name.

Have a Nice Day!

Nobody suggested a nickname for different bracelets on Pepsi, but it did happen with the BLNR and became popular. There is no protocol for this it’s all in your head this protocol. The Beaty is it just happens.

Batgirl was only introduced in March 2019. What discussions that have taken place for many years are you talking about. You refer me to a poll in this forum that only about 645 people participated in in July 2019 when the Batgirl nickname was still fresh. Come on do you seriously gauge the popularity of nicknames by the results of polls here. Go on YouTube, and Instagram and you will see that a big percentage use Batgirl to reference the new BLNR.Even Mondani does. I have said all I wanted to say about this matter and will not participate in this thread anymore. Thanks all for your opinions and I do respect all of them.

A 20mm jubilee bracelet has never been for girls. That's just stupid. On a 40mm GMT and not a 36mm Datejust is even stupider. It's a stupid nickname.

Nicknames go with the bezel. Not the bracelet. No amount of justifying it or trying to put a ‘rationale’ to it makes any sense.

Batgirl is stupid and only trolls, idiots, uneducated/unaware, misogynists, men needing macho validation .... use that stupid name.

I didn't want to say that but using your own words which fits the right party who hate the nickname because they are trolls, idiots, uneducated/unaware, misogynists men needing macho validation who hate using Batgirl for a reference they own or aspire to own, and somehow need to force other people to stop using it by bullying and attacking them with these words, and different tactics. BLNR on jubilee is a beautiful reference and Batgirl fits it well. People who don't like the name and think it's stupid that's fine. I'm aware that some people hate it for their right reasons (don't like nicknames in general or just specifically this one), and they shouldn't use it. I'm not attacking them, I'm just showing how uneducated some people are, who use terms they don't understand. People who like it should go ahead and use it freely. I'm sorry for using some terms used by some other poster. I don't like to use some of these terms, and hope the moderators step in so that some people start being civil again. This is a respectable forum and opinions have to be respected.

I thought you were not participating in this thread anymore
I know we cannot convince you because you have a horse in this race. But for every un-decided out there, they should know why the new nickname is unnecessary & a creation of spite. They should also know that you can’t pick at choose what aspect the nickname comes from. If it’s bezel this week or bracelet the next or hands next time. That’s not how nicknames work.

Best not to mention the Pep-she then

But really... nicknames are just a bit of silly fun. I couldn't care less whatever nickname a watch I own has... certainly nothing to actually get 'offended' about. For whatever reason, Batman and Batgirl have stuck as a way of differentiating the same (although technically slightly different) watch on different bracelets. At least it's better than that 'Bruiser' nickname that was bandied around when the BLNR was first released.

I changed my mind, can't I do that too. . If you mean the Batman horse then yes I do own it. I may buy a Batgirl horse too in the future. If I hadn't managed to source a mint Batman I would definitely have bought a Batgirl. I much prefer it over the Pepsi. If you view this hobby as a race then you should definitely buy the Batgirl if you don't already own it. In my opinion it will get discontinued soon when the Coke is released by Rolex . I don't think there are rules for picking nicknames (fat lady or Sofia Loren comes to mind - President DD - I can name more), it's just fun like Psmith said, and some stick fast as they resonate with people more than others (Pepsi stuck more than Superman). My comments are not aimed at convincing anyone. Everyone's free to think, and speak, and use whatever nickname they prefer as long it's acceptable and not offensive. Please you and others respect what nicknames people choose to use even if you don't like them. Even if you managed to stop people using Batgirl in this forum by some miracle, you won't be able to stop people in real life from using it.

Pep-she is a funny and silly name which I actually heard some use , but won't stick. You need influencers and Youtubers to adopt it, and it's too late (I will never use it because I don't like it, but will never think of stopping people using it if they liked it). Now that will open a can of worms . Batgirl is a real Superhero name, and I'm sad that some people hate it just because it's a female Superhero nickname.

You're being evasive and frustrating after initially being quite bold (albeit ambiguous).

I'll try once more to get you to clarify:

Are you saying don't use nicknames because they're stupid...

Or are you saying don't use "stupid" nicknames?

Also your poll is similarly muddy as several people have pointed out already.

Why did you not stand by your words and poll -

'Batgirl' is a STUPID nickname: YES or NO?

A little hypocritical of you to call us out when you were doing exactly the same thing.

Using TRF as a little distraction from the grim realities of the global pandemic is a good thing surely???

Wow, ok, aaaaaanyway...

Back to the OP’s original question, I’ve been trying to search this also and maybe I’ve just been out of the loop too long, but I can’t really find the answer either.

Can you put an oyster bracelet on the new GMT w/ jubilee? I’m dying for a GMT, but just don’t like the jubilee, and want to be prepared if my AD calls me with one in hand and know what my options are.

Thanks.

The bracelet from the ceramic submariner fits and looks fantastic, personally I think it’s how Rolex should have released it. It looks so much more masculine and will perform the sex change on the Batgirl you are looking for.

Yes, you can. I just picked up a new GMT and immediately took off the jubilee.

I found a brand new Oyster off a no date sub a few weeks prior. The seller put his sub on a Rubber B and was trying to recoup some money.

I used the pins from the Oyster, not sure it matters but I did.

It fits perfect no issues.
