Regarding the fluted DJ I think, from a collection standpoint, it will fit in nicely. From a practical standpoint, I agree with you that it will be unnecessary. Will just look nice in a watch box complementing the strong sport watches.

And watch plus movement and bracelet in almost perfect health after 20 odd years of quite hard use and still looks good today,and would expect it will be still ticking when my own ticker stops.And any every day scratches easily rectified at normal 5-10 year routine service.
