Incoming: SD43
During lockdown in the UK some ADs have been allowing customers to pay for watches to collect when the shops open up again. For us over here that was this Monday just gone. The deal was that the watches had to be in stock (either in the shop or at head office) and no payments were taken for watches which weren't physically in hand.
I was lucky enough to be offered a D-Blue and given some time to think it over but rejected it instead for an SD43 due to thickness fears. I have thighs for wrists but even with that I was too unsure on the D-Blue and logically the SD43 is a better all-rounder. I later tried to buy both but the D-Blue was long gone so I'm back on the list for that. Silly me! Anyway fast forward to Friday which was about two months after paying and it was collection time. The shop is operating on an appointment only basis and the experience is slightly different than usual but overall a fantastic experience and as you would expect fantastic service. I wore my SubC ND to collect as I thought it would be a good comparison and I've uploaded a quick and dirty pic from the car. The AD also gave me a Rolex wallet which was totally unexpected and in a weird way almost more exciting than the watch! It's very subtle and only has branding on the inside so I might actually use it. A pic of that is also uploaded. Overall I'm super happy with the SD43 and in my mind it blows my SubC ND and BLNR out of the water. I've had about six stainless steel sports models from Rolex in total so far and this is easily the best of the bunch for my wrist size and personal tastes. tl;dr - paid for SD43 during lockdown, picked it up Friday, very happy. |
