The problem with the beautiful Alpine countries like Switzerland, Germany and Austria is the food. The food is simply rubbish there, especially in Switzerland.
I would live on a Greek island. Probably Kefalonia or Zakynthos. Portugal is also appealing as is Wales but I'm not sure I'd be welcome there as a permanent resident.
I'd have to go somewhere with a rich culture, a deep history to explore, great cuisine, great views and a people who know how to enjoy themselves.

Not bad. Modest house in a nice neighborhood. Beaches (and b*!ches) are near you and yet I still manage to complain about the things I miss about the vibes of California, NYC, VA et al
After all these concerning things die down, USA will always be the place to be. Big country. Creative and innovative.
Yes, let's swap. Even for a day.

Call Hawaii home, but currently working in New Zealand. My wife’s family is in the Philippines, so would probably go there or here in New Zealand. Another close choice might be Portugal, the Algarve region.

After both my wife and I having spent the best part of the last decade moving around for work, it feels nice to be back home in the UK.

Can I ask you why you have a second home in Japan, family or just went with it? Because if you just went with it, that's really cool.

That’s funny and got me to thinking that we often feel that way here in Canada ...

Then summer hits, it’s HOT, HUMID and sticky for about a month and I can’t wait for the cooler fall weather

Well my place is very small, a 685 square foot condo, the good news is it’s in La Jolla very close to the beach. Yes, let’s switch for a day (or two or three). I’ve never been to your country, the bigger Island North of you many times but would love to get a taste of NZ.

Never thought anyone would want to come here. Don't trust people that voluntarily live below sea level!!

I would have said USA until last year, now I would probably say New Zealand. Or Japan, which is my wife's favorite country.

Couldn’t actually imagine living outside the States but if I had to pick I would choose either France or Switzerland. It would be nice to fantasize about retiring and traveling, spending 1-2 months in a different countries and exploring...but I know that isn’t the question lol.

I love posts like this and seeing others replies.

It’s generally a true 4 seasons country however it’s the second largest on earth and as such depending on where you live within its borders, the climates can be extreme.

Where we live in southern Ontario we have 4 very distinct seasons:

Summers are hot and humid
Spring is cool and wet
Fall is cool and dry
Winter is cold and wet

In other parts of the country you can have polar bears all year round
