Well I finally done and did it!

I will definitely miss the DJ and JLC, not so much the GMT as it was just a bit too chunky for my wrist. ( great watch otherwise)

But this thing is on next level fab...thx for all your comments!

Do it. I have traded several watches for a gold Rolex. You will not missed them with such a great piece. Tried on recently and it’s a great timepiece!

$1000 difference on a $30k odd watch is not even worth mentioning.

I say go for it but can you pull off all that bling? I recently got a 228238 which I have only worn a couple of times these DD pieces have a lot of bling factor and guess I feel a bit self conscious wearing mine.

Buying, selling, trading, those are good reasons to be in the hobby. The 228235 is reserved it gets attention but not like a YG piece. It's very pretty watch and if you want one, I would definitle sell the three pieces and add some cash to get everose green dial.

Congrats Sir....I think you did the right thing! It's a great moment when the little idea you had in the back of your head becomes more and more real, then a distinct possibility and finally becomes a reality! I bet you had goosebumps going to the AD to pick this beauty up! So you kept the Sub and Explorer II as your daily watches?

After I get my Rootbeer, I want to make the watch you just purchased the final piece in my collection...but that's going to take me a while yet. Enjoy it, and we are all looking forward to more pictures!

You’re Absolutely spot on the thought process, Manny and What a great feeling as the AD slowly, very slowly, opened the box! I have kept the Sub as it was my first Rolex bought new just over 30 years ago. The Explorer, I will never sell. It’s so underrated and has a GMT function as well...unbelievable value and tough as old boots...proper old school tool Rolex. The big questions are...what’s next and how the hell do I pay for it.

Beautiful. I saw a 2018 in mint condition for a good deal around 32k recently, very tempting but still a bit not sure about the bling factor. I most wear SS or white colored PM. Anyone know its list price?

Fantastic! Just read the whole thread starting at the beginning with no idea it would be resolved this soon, and how. (Some excellent advice in there as well, as usual.) Congratulations OP! Just reading this has been a rewarding experience. Not owning one but having handled several DD40's, I have an idea of how you must feel.

Cheers
Marc
