What sizes are we looking at here? Anyway, I like the left if elegant is what you’re going for.

Anyway, up to the girl/lady in question.
Indeed, it's 14.5 cm

31mm would be better, when she turn to be a woman, it's still fit good.

In the original post, my take was the word elegant was a key consideration.
Yes, it has to be the 28mm watch on the left.

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS a 36mm DJ for women. I've seen many women rock a Sub or a Daytona and those are 40mm. If you want to gauge it, in Europe women don't wear Ladies Rolex.

Why is that the way to gauge it? So if they don’t shave there underarms, should American women follow suit? 36mm on a healthy sized (not overweight) woman looks like costume jewelry. It was trendy for a while. 28/31mm is far more elegant, which is what the OP asked.

I don’t think 36 on women looks like costume jewelry, 36 is a smaller watch nowadays. Women wear bigger apple watches all the time. I don’t think it is a trend, just the way it is moving forward. We are not talking about a sea-dweller, the 36 datejust is a great watch both men and women can enjoy. Also comes down to preference. Some women, just like men, like smaller and bigger watches. Whatever feels most comfortable on. Elegant is subjective.

Not sure what you mean by "underarms;" however, contrary to what you may have heard, a LOT of European women do shave their armpits. Just this humble European observer's observation.

Cheers

Winner of the most ignorant reply of this thread. What century are you living in? European women's manicuring is no different than American women.

My wife liked the star-like diamonds. We were about to order this for her, but she changed her mind because of a re-prioritization. We might acquire this one soon.

Smaller one is more elegant. Larger one make more of a statement.

Get your money’s worth and the bigger watch. It stands out and looks great on the wrist. The watch on the left is too tiny, barely noticeable. BOL!

[QUOTE=doramas;10780582]What size do you think is more suitable for a girl who can't reach 14.5 mm of wrist? Which is more elegant?

Hopefully, you meant 14.5 cm, not 14.5 mm of wrist.

I'd definitely say 28 based on that picture. Take another 2 pics with them each on the wrist.

36 mm at least for a young woman. My wife has a dj36, but likes my 40 mm watches more.

Spot on in my experience
My wife has just gone from a midsize YM to a 40mm GMT and loves it.

Datejust for girl ..or a woman..? (semantics...?)
.
I'd opt for the larger for a woman, the 28 for a girl...Just my opinion.

At the end of the day, the time piece should match the wrist though.

Obviously people can wear whatever they want, but many people who care about watches would agree that there is a sweet spot for wrist to watch size proportions (though reasonable people can disagree on what that is). Also, objectively, women tend to have smaller wrists than men. So it follows that watches that look good on women would tend to be smaller than those for men.

Just my opinion but here in Hong Kong you see women with very tiny wrists wearing 40mm Rolexes all the time and it just looks a bit silly. In my office there's a very slim woman who wears a Panerai lol.

Anyways the bigger one in the OP is fine.

I like the smaller model in this picture. I believe it also has the new Jubilee end links which IMO look much better.

I almost bought my petite wife the 28 DJ stainless for an anniversary gift. That would have been a mistake. She fell head over heels with a 36 DJ TT. It looks fantastic on her! She receives compliments on it all the time, while nobody notices my black sub date. My sister in law wears smaller watches. We vacationed together this summer and the 36mm makes so much more of a statement, while looking more modern.

Given they’re both the same size female, I’d say the other way around.
