I love my entire collection, yet I yearn for an Explorer 1. Beautiful watch.

The 39mm wears as big/bigger than my sub- actually the dial is approx the same size but very easy to read. Go anywhere do anything watch. I put mine on rubber and feel it’s the perfect summer/travel watch too.

I just picked one up and love it! Photos do not do it justice and it is a super comfortable watch/size. Try it on first if you can!

I’ve bought and subsequently sold 7 Rolex since I started wearing watches as an adult. The 214270 is the only one I kept. Most comfortable, most legible, not flashy but a real beauty. Congrats.

If it was smaller, it would be perfect

May just be me - but I wouldn't buy a watch I had to be talked into.

Like others have said, it wears big due to the larger dial when compared to something with a bezel. To me, it's the ultimate GADA watch, and a real watch geek's piece. Do it, you won't regret it!

I went from a 41mm to this 39 mm without any issues. I am glad it is 39mm and I resisted the 36mm online hype. That would have been WAY too small. 39 is perfect. My wrist is 6.75 inches.

sorry i can’t, i have owned 14270, 114270, 124270, sold each one because i got bored with it pretty quickly. i think it’s a great watch but just a little too boring. Even with many other watches in rotation i still couldn’t believe how quickly i got bored with it every time i put it on.

Echoing a lot of the sentiment around the Explorer 214270, I love it! The legibility, weight, ease of wearing it are second to none. Its a fantastic watch in any collection. That is probably the key to its place in my collection. In my experience its not a one and only watch. I would never in a million years trade my SubDate for one. But it is awesome to have an Explorer in any collection.

This 39 wears much more like a 41-42.

Glad you decided to go for it. You won’t regret it. Given that you have a Speedy, this will fit right in as it has no date and has some human exploration history to share. Many times I tried on the Mark I Explorer 214270 and was just not impressed. Last year my wife bought me the Mark 2 and I have really fallen for it. I’ve owned ceramic GMT’s, ceramic Daytonas. An SD4k, a snowflake SBGA011, and the Explorer is winning the time on the wrist contest.
I can really see it as a one and done Rolex. It’s one of the few watches I can put on first thing in the morning and keep on until bedtime and never feel the need or urge to wear something else. It’s so versatile and durable. |

It's a really great looking watch!!! Understated yet gorgeous in it's simple ways!!!
This was originally on my radar when I first started looking for a new watch earlier this year!! Congratulations and wear it in good health! |

Bought it from a fellow forumer. Ended up going with a MK1 of the "new" version. I know there are many on here who don't like the 3-6-9 on that one, but it looks nice to me!
Very excited to get this thing. Will post photos for sure! |

A great thing about an Explorer is that you can upgrade it. It's a wonderful watch - go for it!
