That is a seriously good looking watch. I’m scouring the sites to look for one this weekend. What’s the lug to lug on it? Much over 48 never works with me.

Unfortunately the calipers I have need new batteries.

Wrist is 7”. Lugs are somewhat long but watch does not wear large for me at all. I wouldn’t want it any other size having owned navitimers in 46 and 43 mm 41 is ideal. Go figure they got it right the first time.

lug-2-lug on the Navitimer 806 Re-Edition is 48.3mm (same as for all vintage 806 after the very first 100pcs batch from July 1954, these had shorter lugs w/ 46.5mm)

Are the straps between the two watches interchangeable? I called a Breitling boutique to order the 765 strap for my 806 and they told it wouldn't work. I said of course it will, why wouldn't it?? And the salesperson started giving me a vague shpiel about curved VS straight spring bars, and I could tell they didn't have any actual hands on experience with either of these straps, but it did scare me away from buying the strap until I could gather more info. Do both watches sport straight spring bars?

I personally have not removed my straps - I like both combos as-is but I agree with you, I can't imagine why the 765's strap wouldn't work on the 806. Actually, the 806 strap is a RPITA beause it can easily rub up against the case, permanently marking it. I had to have my original strap replaced (free of charge) and even the new one had a light impression, which probably happened during the strap-change (done by my dealer).

I've actually never seen curved springbars but even if it were the case, just drop by your AD / watchmaker for standard Springbars. If worse comes to worse, you can easily find a box of "assorted springbars" via Amazon etc.

I guess maybe you'll be the one to let us know ...

I don’t have a 765 but the 806 has straight springbars and changing to my suede straps was no trouble at all.

straps are interchangeable between the 765 & 806 Re-Editions, only the Premier have rounded ends on their leather straps and need special springbars

I am waiting on a Forstner Klip bracelet right now and think it may add to the retro vibe of the watch. My AD also has an OEM brown leather strap that would look great. I will post some pictures of the bracelet when it arrives.

I got the Forstner Klip yesterday and put it on my watch. It is an interesting bracelet and I found that it works very well for me and the style of the watch. Not super expensive at $125 and has the retro look I was going for.
