Maybe to visually balance against the date window? I wondered about easier to orient the watch at night...but the crown is pretty good for that too.

This is the DJ41. They only released this dial on the larger 41mm model. As someone said originally on the DJII TT then when the 41 came along it was available on steel models too.

I agree it’s just a visual balance because having that one lumed stick at 9 is fairly useless to be honest!!

The balance of that dial, as others have noted, does not appeal to me.

In fact, I doubt that I'd ever get used to it.

No one knows if it will develop a cult following, but it could in twenty years or so, if not too many are produced.

It's the third most popular dial right now, so it is very desirable. One of the few dials that sells at a premium through grey market at the moment.

Rare, not really. Rolex in general is just out of control right now.

I agree, it just looks out of place, and dial is just way to fussy.

I think the question is, does it really matter considering you appear to have one? Or by rare, do you mean value?

The 'rarest' watch to me is a £150 Seiko... not because it's unavailable, but because it was my late Grandfather's. Despite Seiko making millions of watches a year, to me there isn't another one in the world that would come close to the one I have

Just wonder around London,,, spend a bit of time at the Golf Club,,, have seen a few.

Can’t see any modern Rolex being rare. They must have sold thousands.

My friend has one. Have to say it looks really smart, especially with a long sleeve dress shirt.

Not rare, people seem to be trying to make them a "thing" they always come up on a FB group I on, never a huge amount of interest.

Saw one at the AD at the weekend....they had nothing much else.
