I wish I’d done that! I must admit in hindsight I’d have done a number of the suggestions. After I challenged his comment, and with the response I immediately just wanted the watch on my wrist and to get out!!

I am keeping the watch, as I have wanted a YM for quite a while and I think it’s a fantastic looking watch even though it splits opinion.

While I was having some of the links removed, the manager said that I’ve been very fortunate with my purchases, which I know, however I shouldn’t expect the same luck in future...!

That took me by surprise, and I questioned him as to why he’d say that as I’m surely building a good relationship with them?! His response was, we have lots of clients who want SS models and they may prove more fitting in the future.

Has anyone had an AD speak to them like that? Especially whilst making a purchase?! Or was it a shitty technique of trying to make me buy more!
Did you ask him if he got his money back from the charm school?

Name the authorised dealer (not the salesperson) and shame on Twitter. Terrible staff training and practice.

I would’ve said “if my money isn’t fitting enough then please give it back to me; I’ll gladly take it and spend it elsewhere that is more fitting!” So unruly these ADs!

Man.. Rolex is such a great brand with premium build quality. But having to hear that non sense would be a sour taste in my mouth. Makes you feel like your begging to give them your money.. wow

What a turd. I would buy the watch, since it’s a good deal for yourself, then tell that MF’er he lost all future business. Find a new AD...

Rolex ADs know they can do whatever they want right now. It's so sad how much abuse people are willing to take just so they can have something with Rolex on the dial on their wrist.

They know that even if you leave without spending money, they'll be somebody right after you who will happily pay whatever so they can show off their Rolex watch to their friends. Right now these ADs don't need your money.

Customer-centrcity isn't taught anymore...anywhere. Doesn't matter what you buy, seems employees feel they can say anything to anyone without consequences. Reason is simple...too many jobs in our generation!

Do what I have been doing last few years. Teach them. Let them know this wasn't appropriate. Walk them through the why...teach them the alternative.

Then, politely ask who their boss is. Do the same for them. It likely won't help...but it might!

UK ADs are truly the worst of the worst, aren't they? it should have been a moment of celebration and joy but this jealous and petty SA decided to take a huge smelly dump right in front of you. i would have ditched the store while he was taking the stickers off just to repay him in kind.

UK ADs have a terrible attitude sometimes. They seem to try and size you up instantly, then if you don’t their cut, they dismiss you.

Partially related years ago when I got my private pilot license, went to my local small airport in the UK. Whilst I was still in college. Wanted to keep myself around aviation, do bug scrubs, wash planes. Not looking to log hours or get paid. Just help out. The good old boys club laughed me out of the hanger told me nothing here for me.
