This is not a flex, I'm just a good Rolex customer (much to the wife's despair), but I'd like to share my thoughts, firstly I never buy from greys, I can't bring myself to support that industry for NEW/CURRENT pieces, vintage watches from greys is fine by me, but new stuff...a BIG NO. For that reason I've never owned a Kermit or a Hulk, I was just unable to get one, and at the time when Kermits were hard sells by the ADs, I wasn't in to them so much, so blagging the new Cermit fresh from my AD has made my day.

Secondly, once upon a time I had a 1972 Bart Simpson (at the time it was called a 'taxi cab' yellow) Stella day date in YG on full presi bracelet with box & papers back in 2000, I sold it for more than I bought it for a few years later in 2002 but still in the very low five digit teens (£)...I had to watch this exact watch trade through both Christies and Phillips for mid six figures in recent years and it pains me, and for that reason I've gone for a the Yellow OP 41mm to recapture this lost love.

Pictures to follow as soon as I have them in hand.

I look forward to reading many more incomings, I hope that there will be a new epoch in Rolex availability with these new subs, one can only hope!
Love that you’re going for the op41 aswell. Congrats.

Congrats! I will be following this post. Rolex did a wonderful job with this update. I’m so curious to see how the new sub wears relative to the 116610. Thank you for sharing.

Bart Simpson is what I had before, a 1972 Yellow Stella Dial full YG day date presi. Before it was called a Bart Simpson, it was known in the industry as a 'Taxi Cab' stella. Some wise guy at Bonhams named it Bart Simpson.

I've owned 4 Datejusts , 6 Daytonas , 6 GMTs , 4 Subs , James Camerons , Sea Dwellers and a Sky Dweller and still have most of them and i'm just as excited to get my hands on this yellow OP as i was any of the others
I think these two references are the pick of the litter from the new releases. I hope you get yours soon!

Congratulations, can’t wait to see the pics! I agree with you about supporting the greys on new watches, I refuse to do it too.

Congrats!

Love those luge. I was never a fan of the maxi case, hence I never kept any of them.

I’m in for the white gold blue or this.

As promised more shots in direct light and indirect sunlight. The green is the same as the hulk to my eyes, maybe a touch more solid and vibrant... the new case wears smaller than the supercase and the refinement Rolex have introduced into this reference is tangible, no longer is it lumpish and chunky, it is sleek and elegant! Two thumbs up from me!
