Regarding the lugs comment on GMTs. I think the current GMT line-up already reflects a major step forward from the prior maxi case models. While it's subtle to the human eye, there is a stark difference in fit/comfort when I wear my original BLNR compared to my Pepsi on jubilee. Braelet is obviously part of that difference, but the lugs/case do make a difference.
Actually curious to know whether the lugs on the new sub are slimmer than the 126710 GMTs.

Thank you! So this is pretty much what I thought. The lug to lug width are basically the same. The wider bracelet gives the illusion that they are smaller. They do narrow slightly, that is probably the mm difference. This is a great refinement, but not enough to trade up the same watch in my opinion. Adding another with the new version, absolutely! Think this helps those that currently bought the 6 digits feel better, while made improvements for those to enter into new sub ownership.

Please measure lug to lug length from top to bottom.
From the comparison pics, the wider bracelet is much more noticeable and the dial has a slightly bigger feel to it too.

With all due Respect it's not New Kermit.

It's "Starbucks"

That's the nickname!

Looks great. I have a Hulk but I think I prefer yours. In some lights the Hulk is "a trifle sudden" (to quote P.G. Wodehouse).

I think that the GMTs are okay, though. I don't think the lugs are anywhere near as visually obtrusive as on the outgoing members SubC family. The 114060 in particular seems much more obviously squared off.

Thanks OP. Great forum service with this thread.

Visually, the difference is so nominal you need to macro pic to see any difference. The real upgrade is the 32 series movement.

Love the new Cermit. I like the looks of it better than my Hulk tbh. Congrats!

I'll be keeping my 116610LN for sure. It's my favorite Rolex that I own. I think the brute case is very fitting for a dive watch and emodies the spirit of the rectangular shape of the early 6204s. Rolex expanded that influence form the 6204s and added some 5 digit flare with the reshaping due to the 21mm bracelet. IMO they couldn't have done a better job with the update. I wish there was an additional sunburst dial option though. An Everose RG with chocolate sunburst dial would be superb option in both full RG and TT forms. A platinum edition with the brown ceramic insert and ice blue dial would be equally fascinating. Hope Rolex adds a few of those options going forward. Perhaps even a WG with blue ceramic, sunburst blue dial and diamond hour markers. My shortlist though to compliment my other Subs is:

126618LB
126610LV
126613LB

I'll be picking up at least one of those 3 and hold out hope for RG and Platinum versions to be added down the line. Great additions though to the Professional line imo.

Agree! Keeping my 114060 and adding 126613LB

Thank you for the measurements! I read elsewhere that the lug to lug distance was the same between the 41 and 40mm subs.

Thanks for the pics, in the second pic (top down view), do think the 41mm LV is noticeably larger than the old 40mm blue, just me?

Edit: looking again, all 3 pics put the 41mm noticeably larger for me. Even the bracelet looks significant wider even though is only 1mm on paper. That 1mm seems to be significant after all!

Many thanks.

So, the choice comes down to thinner lugs, but more visual mass wrapping around the wrist coupled with a more conventional/generic shape that has more to do with 5 series and less to do with 4 series, or thicker lugs with a more square shape and thinner elegant bracelet that highlights the case/dial while being truer to 4 digits (like the 6204).

Good arguments for both. Buy and own what you enjoy most.

I think that new Sub with green is much more dressy and classy than the green dial version.

My My my....

I mean there is some scope for error, but the Cermit lug to lug is definitely longer, it may not be exactly half a mil. but that's the measurement I was able to make, also there are 2 places to take the lug to lug measurement based on the transverse taper of the lug, I took my measurements from the very outside of the lug and there was a noticeable 0.5mm difference between the Cermit & Bluesy.

I'm sure there are TRF members with better ability to measure with greater accuracy, so please don't take my numbers as gospel, they are the best I can currently achieve.

Also the lug width increase by 1mm makes the overall case even more square than old 40mm? Looks like a fatter old Sub!

Congratulations on your sub! Thank you for the measurements

I think the lug to lug measurements a lot of folks are asking about are the end of the lug to the other end of the same lug on the same side...top to bottom or 12 to 6

Yup, apologies I addressed this earlier, my measurements are thus;

Cermit lug to lug outside taper: 47.50mm

Bluesy lug to lug outside taper: 47.00mm

Best
